Mr. Sammy Darnold, you glorious bastard....
#1
Tough as nails, gun slingin;, game winning, mobile in the pocket, rocket launching mother #$%&er. Harassed most of the day as I think Cam Robinson decided to take the day off, that TD pass late under duress to Jefferson was epic. Never took his eyes off downfield. Hurt his ankle, never came out and just kept leading the team. Right after that game winning TD throw, catch the highlight where the offensive linemen just went nuts on Darnold: hugging him, yelling and so pumped he made that play and took the shot he did after. Pretty special.

Nothing but flowers for Sam, that dude was a warrior yesterday.

Agree on darnold, although its hard to single out any one OLman from yesterdays QB beating, the IOL looked like ass and ONeil seemed to struggle himself at times.
Why isn't Chuck Foreman in the Hall of Fame?

I'm having a hard time now imagining the Vikings letting Darnold walk. He's doing what elite QBs do, win games and game winning drives. Amazing throws. Tough as nails. Elite arm. Leader. When KOC gave one of the game balls in his locker room speech at the end yesterday to Darnold, the team erupted. They love him. And Sammy has been very slyly saying in the post game interviews on the field, "No place I'd rather be than Minnesota".... he's telling them he wants to stay, making it public so the fans understand and its not going on deaf ears now internally. No way it can be.

I can't believe this is where I am now with Sammy, but I am. Not sure what they do, but holy shit Sam has gone beyond changing the narrative for himself.....he's possibly changed it for the Vikings moving forward. The next 2 games and the playoffs will decide this.

I dont think he breaks the bank either, in this scenario the Vikings have leverage, something they never positioend themselves to have when Kork was here.

About time! Lol.

The team and QB we've all been waiting for, for years, is already here! All year long this team has played great. Every team the media has told me is better than us has lost in that time, and we just keep winning.

I thought Sam could win the MVP, looking like he might have to settle for top 3 or 5, but our Super Bowl chances haven't been this live in 15 years.

The Vikings letting Sam walk would be laughably dense. Darnold's ball is on the green 3 feet from the hole and some Vikings fans STILL want to put money on McCarthy's tee shot getting closer. Wild to me.

I'm getting there too Sticky... Still lots of season left though.

Darnold's first 9 games was a mixed bag. We were winning, but Darnold's play was erratic. First quarter Sammy would ball, but then too many drives that stalled out, 2-3 WTF plays per game, taking sacks holding the ball, but then he would always come alive in the late 3rd/4 quarter.

It definitely feels like his play has evened out since the Jax/Tennessee game. He's cut down the turnovers and the WTF plays are non-existent these past 6 games. I saw him check it down quickly a couple times yesterday to get good yards. But the big time plays are still there and he is delivering in the 4th quarter.

It's going to be interesting to see how this all unfolds. The team and coaches still love JJ McCarthy and they love Sam Darnold. Think it is going to come down to how we perform in the playoffs and what type of contract we are willing to offer Sam and what he is willing to accept.

Good problem to have. Just enjoy this season for what it is. 13-2... Wow.

BOOM
