I'm citing evidence, so unless you've stolen his diaries or something...it's kinda hard to dispute so many of his teammates celebrating him and openly wanting him back during last offseason.

No one just gets pummeled, for years, just for the money, when that same money could have been had elsewhere behind better blocking.
Let's beat the Lions and get that week of rest, Vikings! SKOL!!

Fuck your evidence, you have no fucking clue how his teammates felt about Kirk unless you personally know them and they disclosed their feeling about them.  Kirk is and always was about the money and that will never change.

Agree totally that he didn’t do right by the Vikings with his prioritization of his paycheck above all else.   I don’t get the feeling that anybody with the Vikes misses him greatly.

Honestly, the fast fall is almost shocking: not even through the first year of a mega contract, benched for a rookie and he'll be cut before March. Said he's going to take a month off from football after the season is over and see where his head's at. He's at a crisis of confidence.

I felt the same, watching that was like a train wreck and it happened in a blink. Unless you were a Falcons fan. I dont know if we dodged a bullet as some are saying, cause I am not convinced he would have went off the rails in MN.

Well Penix didn't do much but he mostly protected the football and they won by 30 so I'm going to say Falcons fans are happy with the switch.

Kirk Falcons jerseys will cost about $8 soon.

No he wouldn't have. What a lot of people are forgetting is that he played really well THIS SEASON. Up until November 10th, Falcons were 6-3, atop their division and Cousins was playing well, among the league leaders in most categories. 17 TDs, 7 INTs, solid numbers. What happened after that is anyone's guess, but I think whatever mechanism was in place in Minnesota to help a QB bounce back after a poor game wasn't there in Atlanta and Cousins spiraled.

Interestingly, November 10th was Darnold's 3-pick game against the Jags. Both Cousins and Darnold fell off a cliff that week. But since that game, Darnold has thrown 15 TDs and 1 INT. Cousins 1 TD, 9 INTs.

....and Darnold's one INT in that time was a 4th down, who-cares-because-its-a-punt type throw that netted the opponent a whole 8 yards in field position.

He was playing solid earlier in the year but nowhere near the level he was at pre-injury. His underlying stuff even early wasn't great but the thought was give it time, he'll continue to improve. Obviously it's been the opposite. No one's going to cry tears for Kirk but that's a bummer for him. Minus that little $90M thing, been a pretty rough yearish for Kirko to go from playing MVP football to now being a shell.

In both games against TB he's passed for almost 800 yards with 8 TDs & only one INT. Against every other opponent his numbers are pedestrian at best.
