I think its as much his decision making as is it could be something physical (i.e. plant foot etc.)

KC really blossomed under KOC and now he's not...This may not be helping Darnold's case with another team lol.

But it sure makes you wonder whats in the water KOC is pouring out to his QB's.

That's a very good point. Outside of Cousins there's probably not a person this is going to hurt more than Sam. I don't think that's the issue with Cousins though, nor do I think it's his achilles. He started out the year fine. 17 TDs, 7 INTs, was among the league leaders in yardage and passer rating. Then it all just fell apart. Since then he's thrown 1 TD and 10 INTs. Something happened.

Does anyone realistically think that Penix is going to take the Falcons anywhere this year?  Are they going to beat 1 playoff caliber team much less 4 playoff teams in a row?  Who really cares if they limp into the playoffs and then get smoked by one of the massively superior teams.

You don’t put Penix in to save your season.  They just aren’t good enough.  There’s nothing to save.  You put Penix in if it aligns with your long term QB plans.  If you’re reworking his mechanics and it’s still a work in progress, then don’t put him in.  If he’s not seeing the field well enough in practice, then don’t put him in.  If he only looks better than Cousins because he’s mobile, I’m not sure that’s a reason to put him in.  If he’s doing well in practice and you’re done with Cousins, sure put him in, but it should be under the guise of getting him experience, not saving the season.

I don't think this changes anything about my comment.  If this helps Penix's development, great.  If he goes out there and isn't ready, it'll be a dumb decision.  That said, the players expressing confidence in Penix, and the coach saying that he doesn't see a downside and that they're being smart about it, gives some reassurance that they're not being rash and stupid about things.

There's zero percent chance that the Falcons are going on a playoff run, regardless of who their QB is.
