Titans game/NFL Observations
#21
I was very envious of the Titans IDL.

Sweat and Simmons are a couple of beasts inside. I want me one of those!!

I thought both the addison hit and powell tackle we legit calls, both happened across the field from me, but i called for both in real time. It was obvious the defender launched towards the head and neck area, he was looking to hit him high, not just break up the pass. And Powells hit seemed plenty late as well as the horse collar aspect so another example of unnecessary roughness.
Why isn't Chuck Foreman in the Hall of Fame?

I remember Hitman getting ejected for a far less egregious hit.

Sam looked looser, I think he's shaking off the "old Darnold" issues to an extent. If Nailor made that TD catch, there'd be no discussion beyond acknowledging his return to early-season form.

We got outrun enough yesterday that I'm concerned about pure speed vs. da Bearz, but our coaches should have decisive advantages the whole way.
Build on 14-3, take back the NFCN, break the ****ing curse. Simple.

I do agree that if Nailor makes that catch, the national media narrative would be on Darnold in a positive way, but without it, it was a 'the Vikings survived' kind of thing.

I only trust evaluations that consider those things. PFF does for example. Adjusted EPA is another I like. It's a metric that takes into account dropped passes, passes that "should have" been intercepted but weren't, hospital balls, dropped balls, pressure, quality of defense, etc. Darnold fares well in both of those.

Cam Robinson is a 'get in the way' guy more than an annihilator like Darrisaw. Very glad to have him, because it kept the line intact and the backups in their same positions for continuity. Important. But I'd say Robinson is average/slightly above average overall....which is as good as could be hoped for when Darrisaw went down. You usually can't replace him with a player like Robinson, its more of a downgrade.

The fact that NOBODY is talking about Cam Robinson speaks volumes to how he's doing...

Yes, it is looking like a good move by the front office. Still not sure if CD will be ready for TC or not?

Thank you for pointing that out. So does that mean KAM did good?  Tongue

Agree. He definitely hasn't been dominant like Darrisaw was, but for a guy you bring in mid-season for a conditional 5th two years from now, that's a home run.
