Anybody headed to Nashville for the game this week,  or have any good suggestions from past trips to Nashville for the Vikings?

NashVegas is a much different town than 10+ years ago. Bachelorette Party capitol of the country now. Not sure I'd go to Lower Broadway where it will be wall to wall young people partying hard. Plenty of other places, have fun everyone attending.

No,  this is kind of a 30th anniversary trip for me and the Mrs.  We are getting in Saturday afternoon,  going to have supper with some people that we are going to the game with ( one of the companies I have sold for got a box for us and a few of the people I have worked with over the years )  after the game we may see what downtown looks like, otherwise there is a Vikings bar I thought about checking out, but I am really up in the air on that for now.  Going to spend a few more days there checking out the Franklin battlefield sites, as well as whatever else sounds good at the time, trying to not turn this into a planned out thing,  just wanna go with however we feel.   If I find a good band and a bourbon I enjoy... and a bar that isnt to damn loud... I may just call it a trip right there.

I definitely am going to avoid the woo-girls,  I am to old for that shit and my tolerance for stupidity grows weaker with each passing day.  Our daughter is going to be in town for the game as well and wanted us to go downtown saturday night... but I really just dont see that happening.

Jimmy, I'd agree with Sticky, Broadway is something else. The country music hall of fame is close. If you can catch the Grand Ol Opry and or their hotel thats interesting...even if you don't like country music. A trip to Jack Daniels is interesting. (They get their oak from around Spring Gove MN)

Lots and lots of waterfalls if you drive my way towards Cookeville.

I'll think on it some more.

There's some of the bars on Broadway that are less crowded and more adult friendly. Roberts Western World is one of them. The good news is that you can pick and choose as you walk down Broadway. Many like Tootsies have multiple stages in back and above with less crowds.

The other thing to do is get tickets / table somewhere with music. That keeps you separated from the crowds. In fairness...the crowds don't usually get overwhelming until well after 10...you can be in and out by that point Jim...lol. Have a lot of fun! I've been to a few Viking games down there. You should have a fair amount of purple brethren to hang out with on game day especially given their record.

I see that Foreman is going to be signing autographs down there, I am tempted to send my daughter in for a picture and have her ( shes 26) tell Chuck that he was her Great Grandpas favorite player... might make the ol spin doctor feel really old.

Its really sad how few of his generation are still with us and none more deserving of the HOF call before they pass on than CF, but yet he is largely forgotten, I wonder how many of the greats from my era will face the same fate? Although it seems like they dont really miss to many these days, the old timers need a better lobbying effort IMO.

That's funny because that was exactly my lasting impression of Nashville last time I was there. Very novel, very Vegas..and a bachelorette party in every damn bar you go to. Can still be fun though.
