Telling Me You Are Going To Rig The Election, Without Saying The Words....
#51
SO... RFKj had to go to court to get his name onto the ballot in some states, but now that he has dropped out in some states, and is endorsing Trump they dont want to take his name off the ballot, but Biden didnt want to quit, Harris wasnt even a candidate for President, and her name gets slapped on in every state no questions asked. How is this not raising red flags?

It's all red flags, at this point.

RFK drops, but can't get off of some ballots after throwing in with Trumplestilskin...

...who insists that he has a a "RIGHT TO INTERFERE WITH THE 2020 ELECTION", which should be a confirmation of a million red flags...

...as he tries to get his various felony trials postponed to AFTER the election, which should be a slew of more red flags...

...in case his sexual assault charge wasn't enough for some, which is pretty horrifying...

...as his main opponent, a stammering floozy that's never gotten a delegate she didn't inherit from an increasingly infirm career 'bent' politician...

...who's made ridiculous, racist statements throughout his career that would've gotten a GOP candidate burned at the media's stake...

...while he did back-channel deals for his drug-addled, sexually deviant son.

We've got a giant red tarp over the whole fuggin' country at this point.

does anybody still believe that the 2020 numbers were on the up and up?   16% of the voters that supported Biden just said fuck it and not show up this time to vote for harris?   the whole argument for the the 2020 results were so many people showed up to vote against Trump,  but we are to believe that they werent inspired to do the same in 24?

isnt it time to install nation wide election integrity laws and find a way to enforce them?  at a bare minimum requiring paper ballots and voter IDs?  Its been proven multiple times how unsecure the voting machines are,  so why do some places insist on sticking with them?  A large majority of Americans ( of both parties ) believe that we need voter ID laws...so why do some states resist?

Lets work on fixing the issues so it will be easier to fix the country instead of its elections.

I'm all for IDs for votes, but as there has yet to be a foolproof system...paper ballots get "misplaced", mechanical machines fail, rampant distrust on mail-ins, etc (though I expect much less push-back on that this time, somehow Wink )...

...I would love a system that everyone agrees with, and one that also prevents jerrymandering and manipulation of voting locations/hours as well.

I dont remember where it was ( I am thinking it was somewhere in Europe ), but there was an election where you put your own paper ballot into the counting machine, and then you can see your ballot in the tally as it climbs. supposedly makes for easier audits and more confidence in the system.

I am kind of torn on the mail in ballot,  Absolutely yes for military,  but unless they can tighten up the system,  I am saying shelf it for anyone else, until they can secure it.

The electric machine vulnerability that I refer to is some annual geek convention in Vegas and one of the challenges is to hack voting machines,  its scary how quickly even HS aged kids are getting into those machines... sure they are likely some of the best in the world, but if HS kids can do it... is the integrity of our elections really worth that little?

I will say this,  I think its pretty cute that even though its been the same 3 little ol ladies at my rural polling station for over a decade, and they all know who I am,  they are still so professional,  need to see the ID, need to have me state my full name,  need to go over the voting instructions with every voter... they really get into doing their jobs.

In the traffic hell where I'm currently at, the mail-ins are going to have some inevitable popularity as the "leadership" of the whacko lefties continues to all but punish people for using cars, yet can't get the rail systems going on budget or time, nor can they keep the fentanyl addicts from openly using on the buses...so...there's some other arguable uses.

I miss voting in my local schools, which I did until moving up here; the machines where the tabulation is instantaneous would be very intriguing to me.

I see the need for expanded mail in voting, but until its figured out how to make it tighter ( nothing is perfect ),  I think we need to roll back to more polling stations and in person voting.  I am not opposed to making it a national holiday so more of the working class has the opportunity,  hell make veterans day the nation election day,  or the 4th of July, I dont really care,  but this mess needs to be corrected and soon.  when the people dont trust the process,  they dont trust the results,  and then you may as well not have a government.

Where I vote, we insert the ballot in the machine and it tabulates instantly and provides an indicator that the ballot was tabulated.  That way you have both the electronic and paper copy.  The exceptions were for early voting which required you to show an ID, vote and seal /sign your ballot into an envelope in front of a registrar/witness to be opened on election day.  Like you, I don't believe in mail in voting except for the military and I would add permanently incapacitated.  I don't want anyone disenfranchised.  The permanently incapacitated would require a doctor affidavit.  The 2020 ballot in WI allowed people to "self certify" they were permanently incapacitated which didn't require a witness to vote.  Coincidentally, very liberal Dane County (Madison) had a SIGNIFICANTLY higher percentage of incapacitated voters (ostensibly because of Covid).

I also have a serious problem with unmanned drop boxes and ballot harvesting. Also, all precincts should operate under the same rules and funding.  In 2020, the two large Democratic counties in WI allowed for "curing" of ballots even though State law required not counting the votes.  They were given private funding (Zuckerberg bucks) to help cure ballots primarily in those two counties.

It's just not that complicated. I didn't realize that a fair election is all that controversial.

and enough of states trying to set their own rules when it comes to federal elections... if they want to play fuckery with their state and local contests... so be it, but one set of rules, nation wide, for any federal races IMO.

I don’t see any need for expanded mail in voting.  Many other ways to address any need for all voters to be able to vote that are much more secure.
