Colts @ Vikings
#31
I know some were wanting to see the Vikings play well after the opening script. That narrative was reversed in this one.

Reichard is a huge loss if he's out for a bit. Just like Darrisaw and Cashman have been.

Regarding Cashman, hopefully he'll be back soon. I have absolutely nothing to base this claim off other than what I know in my heart to be true, but the Vikings gotta be tops in the league for Not Putting A Guy On IR, And Having Him Miss 4+ Weeks Anyway.

As for last night's game-- The first half was so weird. We looked great one minute and like sludge the next. A better team would have been up at least 10 on us at half I think. Thankfully, in the second half they played better and the defense really locked things down. Even against a hypothetical better team, we played well enough in the second half to be competitive with anyone last night I'd say. Very impressive by the defense and a huge confidence booster after a rough couple outings.

Aaron Jones- Disagree that he looks old. He was running into a lotta brick walls last night. Akers is faster and provides a nice spark but Jones is much better overall to my eyes. His pass catch and run on 3rd and long last night was an awesome play. The thing this team hasn't been able to do for years is line up on 1st and Goal from the 4 and just run the ball in. Why that is I'm not sure but it's hardly unique to Jones.

Addison- I was calling for more of him and we got it. He's really good! Seems silly not to use him. Been saying the same about Josh Olliver for two years too! Nice game my dude!! Hockenson it was great to see out there. Hopefully he is feeling alright this morning. With the interior OL issues we're having, some two tight end run game might be in our near future.

Hope Reichard injury isnt too serious

Nice to see TJH back.

Addison showed when he's targeted and motivated he's a really good #2 guy.

#90 for the Colts was in the backfield, in Sam's face all night and Jones had no where to go

So Akers has replaced Chandler as #2 on the depth chart? Vikings should just stick to FA and quit drafting Wink Akers/Jones is a good combo. I expect Akers to get more carries the 2nd half of the season.

Darnold, will Darnold at least once a game. Not sure what his ceiling would be if he played here and in the same system for a few years?  We wont ever know

6/2 is great and they have a chance to pad it some. Jax wont be easy, Philly beat em, but just by 5. Watch out for the Eagles, they are getting warmed up.

I was going to complain about the D till I realized they held another NFL team to so few pts. Lack of pass rush will haunt us the rest of the season.

You must not play fantasy, because that shit happens all the time. It sounded to me like Cashman was close to returning for this game, so unless he has a setback, I'm guessing he'll go against the Jags. Turf toe has to be right up there with hammy as one of the most frustrating and lingering injuries in sports.

Akers is happiest running outside zone, where they just run Jones behind the OG's and Bradbury it seems. Akers is a little more fluid, and I thought he saw more holes running than Jones did.

I think they are a good combo and I was happy to have Akers back...

Chandler must not be capable of remembering the plays or he can't be trusted in other areas like pass protect because he's a talented runner as RB2. Cut the guy loose this offseason instead of this weird game of having him on the roster and not playing him.

Unless Chandler has an injury, Akers has replaced him at RB2.

Not too surprised, KOC has always liked Akers a lot. Chandler is coming up short in his game, not sure exactly where though.

One adjustment Flores made and one that was brought up in the broadcast was shifting Van Ginkel to an inside backer position on passing downs allowing Dallas Turner to get some more looks and he made some plays. I'd like to continue to see more of this as the year goes on and less Jihad Ward stealing snaps. Turner is the future and unless he is totally lost, play the kid

Best game of Dallas Turner's NFL career last night. 26 snaps, nearly matching his total from the previous four games combined. 4 pressures, 1 QB hit, 1 run stop, 71.3 PFF grade. Encouraging stuff from the 21-year-old rookie.
