Yet he has no regrets.

Yeah it's a sad reality. He is definitely making each day count

So very sad about this, he was my first Viking "hero", so to speak, when I was old enough to have a clue about the game. Danny White, Rashad...all on my early Purple watch list.
I'm always hoping medical science makes progress on these things, now that increases a bit more.
LET'S WREAK SOME FUGGIN' HAVOK, VIKINGS!!! SKOL!!!

Very sad to hear this about TK9, he was a boyhood hero, i was to young to understand the jeers amd jokes about his off field issues, just that he was the captain of ny favorite teams ship. I missed going to see him a few weeks ago near me, hope i get another chance. Hope we all get more chances.

Tommy K was my QB growing up, sorry to hear it. He's almost 70 years old, so hard to say if its CTE or not for sure as many, MANY people suffer with dementia (my Mom included) outside the hard contact world of football.

We met TK at the Viking bar in Denver couple seasons ago. My son got his autograph. Nice guy. Really sad to hear about the dementia. What a monstrously cruel thing that is.
I still remember his fearsome hangover scowl at camp in Mankato back around 85 or 86. We were standing by the dorms as the guys came out, trying to get an autograph. Tommy's face was a twisted canvas of "fuck you". He didn't have to say a word to tell us no. An image that will never leave my mind, lol.
Sorry that he's got this disease, lotta older football players are dealing with it no doubt from all the brain hits with what we know now about CTE, etc.

I didn't envy those late 70's/early 80's players for the Vikings.
They took the torch from the SB years and no team has lived up to them since. Some fun moments, but no sustained success really. Wish Kramer and his family peace in the time they have together. |
