Should Kwesi Make trades?
#1
Was thinking about how the Vikings are flying high by putting a bunch of "misfits" together. Not really "misfits" but players no one thought they would "miss" that "fit" in the Vikings system.

So you have teams like the Panthers, Browns, Titans, Giants and Pats who are not going anywhere but may have a hidden gem on the team that could be a possible fit for the Vikings?

Give up a late round pick for someone else to come to the "misfit" island.  Should they? What position should the target?

I would say Guard, NT or CB

What say you?

I hear you, but it'll be a tough spot mostly because you'd be messing with chemistry. Now if it was an injury situation and they needed to replace a starter, yeah for sure....make a trade. But just to add talent outside of an injury, I don't see it happening. JMO.

We do have areas I would like to see improved, but that would be the case if we just won the SB too.

I think I'm more in Sticky's camp, chemistry in the locker room is good. IF we do make a move, I could see it for depth down the stretch.

The RB for example is paper thin as are the DB's.

Maybe its just me, but I don't see a RB room of Jones, Chandler and Gaskin as 'paper thin'. I'm completely fine with that all year long sans injury.

Someone on Twitter suggested we should trade for Dexter Lawrence. Hard to see that happening, but that would be the position I'd target. I don't think you mess with the chemistry on the OL, especially with Risner due to come back soon. Then there's the fact that we don't have a lot of draft capital to play with.

I think unless there's some cheap, unsung DT that Flores likes we probably stand pat.

What exactly are you going to trade? We have a 1st and 2x 5ths. Unless you're trading depth (Nailor) in our WR room or Safety room (We'd be screwing our future self) for depth somewhere else there really isn't much we've got that others might want.

Great Point. Forgot we gave up the farm for JJ and DT.

Yes, this. Unless we are giving up draft capital in 2026 or 2027, I don't see us making any major moves barring injury. I really like where we are at right now and we have reinforcements coming with some of the key players that are injured; Addison, Hockenson, Turner, and Pace.

As long as "Sam I am" keeps playing efficient football and doing his best Kirk Cousins imitation...we are going to be a tough team to beat

I wouldn't be surprised if Kwesi finds someone.  I think it's pretty doubtful that it would happen though.  In general, in season trades are rare.  We don't have much draft capital to trade.  Most positions take a while to come up to speed, so you're either picking up someone long term, or picking up someone at a position where they don't need to learn much, or are desperate due to injury.

The only real viable scenario I see is if we have a string of injuries and need to bring in a guy.  I don't see us bringing in a guy for just this season to get us "over the hump" or bringing in a Hockenson.

I agree here.
Don't mess with what is successful.
Don't forget that we have very few draft picks next spring anyway.
