Question about Kevin Harlan comment
#1
On the broadcast, when Darnold was getting ready to launch that beauty to JJ for the 97 yard TD, Harlan says: " 2nd down and 9....Darnold....getting messy...going deep....". Getting messy? WTF did that mean? My take is he was implying that Darnold was going to fuck up somehow. Just towing the line on a narrative. So listen, I lived in KC a long time, Kevin Harlan is a legend in that town, I've even had a chance to have lunch with him via a friend....he's awesome....but I thought that was a bit of a shot at Darnold. Am I misconstruing that?

He said messy a few times during the broadcast. He said messy pocket a few times throughout the broadcast.

Ok, gotcha. But the pocket wasn't messy at all on that play. The line was freaking awesome on that play. He said Darnold was 'getting messy'. Just thought it was odd.

I thought he meant that the pocket was getting messy. I guess it was maybe a little? But Darnold stepped up and away from the outside rush and threw a dot.

Prebroadcast and early in the broadcast the talking heads sounded like John Madden having a love fest with Bret Favre.

That's how I took it...he was about 2-3 yards deep in the end zone when he let'r rip.
Might have looked a bit messy, but the OL really protected him.

Not as much as the Packers but the 49ers are a huge media darling. We just broke millions of hearts yesterday.
On "First Things First" Eric Mangini said "the punt block gave them 3 points, then the 49ers 4th down stop at the two yard line instead of kicking a field goal lost 3 points and that's 6 points and the difference of the game"
Is there any other way to not look one-sided?  Wow, What about the Jones fumble at the 1 yard line that, if he scored like he always did wearing green, would have basically called the game a blowout?

Or the Darnold INT that shouldn't have been thrown? At least another 3 points for Minnesota as well.

What about that muffed punt? How the 49ers recovered that was like a 1 in 10 chance.
