It's a good question...
Maybe part of it is contract timing? Payton signed the most recently? Doesn't hurt that the folks that bring you Walmart also own part of the Broncos.

I think the bigger question is how is he coaching in the NFL after bountygate? Paying players to knock another player out of a game should have been a lifetime suspension and if not, no team should have hired him.
