I like his game and thought he had the least chance to "bust" of any of these guys because he's smart, accurate, and has some mobility.  But if he's Andy Dalton, you'll be left wanting more.  Not a bust, but not a guy that's elevating his teammates.

Yeah, I think Andy Dalton is an excellent comp to what I was thinking. Like Nix, Dalton was 24 when he was drafted. Played really well early on, even went to the Pro Bowl as an alternate, and everyone wondered why he was the 5th QB taken. But then he really kind of settled in to what he would always be: a very good game manager with unremarkable athleticism and arm talent. I think Nix can be better than Dalton, but the Red Rifle is probably the closest comp to what I was thinking.

And for what it's worth, Dalton is the only QB from that draft still playing. Newton, Gabbert, Ponder, Locker...all were done years ago.

Nix is getting a ton of love from the media for his preseason performances and already claiming Payton is a genius, lol. The reasons team's passed on Nix is because of his age and his upside (or lack thereof)....the Andy Dalton comparison is a good one. But if Payton is willing to cater the offense to Nix's strong parts, he should have a decently productive offense. But you have to commit to that for Bo to reach his high end, which might be lower than the guys drafted before him.
