....Game 1. I don't think so with Drake Maye, however. Penix for sure no and neither for McCarthy. Bo Nix? Probably. Or starting soon. Washington just announced Daniels as the starter.
So Caleb Williams and Jayden Daniels will both be starting....

They are pretty enamored with Bo Nix in Denver (and for good reason).
Don't get me wrong, I think JJM is going to be awesome long term. But I was a Bo Nix fan before the draft and it will be entertaining watching his career in Denver. That's three out of the top six QBs in this year's draft starting. We won't see Penix for one or two years. I predict Drake Maye will implode...never understood the fascination with him. This was quite the QB class, wasn't it?

File this in the "weird" column. The Falcons sat Penix this weekend. Why?
Coach: "Last week, we wanted to get him out there and get a feel for what he was in a live game…Wanted to see him be able to answer questions, talk about it on the sideline, go out there and execute…Mike showed us last week enough that we don’t have to play him in the preseason.” Makes me wonder if they sat him because they don't want fans chanting his name every time Cousins throws a pick.

What's his ceiling, that's the question. More mobile than people give Nix credit for. I'd root a little harder for him if he didn't have Sean Payton as his coach.

But I did predict that Nix would look better than the other five his 1st season. He's older and far more experienced than any of the others. But I also don't think he has quite the upside of the others. In other words, in 2 or 3 years he might be at the bottom of that list. Not saying he's Mac Jones, but him performing well early should be no big surprise.

Same, Nix is such a likable kid and talented player that I will root for him, but will be challenging with him playing for Payton, wish he went anywhere else, was really hoping someone would jump Denver for him. I watched a lot of Nix last year and really liked his game and also him as a person.

I like his game and thought he had the least chance to "bust" of any of these guys because he's smart, accurate, and has some mobility. But if he's Andy Dalton, you'll be left wanting more. Not a bust, but not a guy that's elevating his teammates.

Man, I just think its way to early to label this QB class anything; generational (ala 1983) or bust (ala 2021)
Ask me in 2026...

But I do think this QB class is going to turn out to be special. If you have the #5 and #6 QB selected be McCarthy and Nix? That's something. |
