The Carolina Panthers could have had a lineup of…

Caleb Williams
DJ Moore
Tank Dell
Jalen Carter or Darnell Wright
And their 2025 2nd round pick

Instead they chose…

Urgency for CJ is going to ramp-up in 25 for sure.

Besides a rough time for Stroud to endure, what really sucks is Caleb goes to the f'ing Bears.

I think this is a rare case where we all probably agreed on something; not to trade our 1st in 25 for a QB in 24.

I'm speaking of Bryce Young here for the Panthers. CJ Stroud is good.....nobody is doubting his trajectory. Young on the other hand, lots of doubts yet. I think you've gotten them switched here.

Yup, I was referring to Young. Not Stroud.

I can't believe I'm saying this but I expect Young to have a much better year. Their new coach, Dave Canales, came over from the Bucs. I was impressed by him resurrecting Mayfield's career. The year before that he helped Geno Smith in Seattle.

Young is really small and was terrible last year, but he was also the #1 overall pick. More likely than not, he doesn't *suck* and can at least get to a mediocre level. And that'd be a big improvement.

Diontae Johnson is a younger, better version of current Thielen, they still have current Thielen, plus a young group of WRs. Maybe one will break out.

The RB and TE rooms are weak but I don't know. It seems everyone has written Young off for dead in NFL media and in fantasy football circles, but sometimes when everyone zigs it's time to zag. I think he'll be decent.

Good opinion here, yeah he's still just a 23 year old heading into his 2nd year of the NFL. And Canales has really helped revive a QB's career or two. I guess my main deal with Young is he's really small. I know there's been other guys near his height that have played and do play, but Bryce is also not only short, but small framed. I mean Russ Wilson looks like a pit bull body-wise, Young looks like that athletic 7th grader bagging your groceries.

This sums it up from ESPN: The Panthers traded for WR Diontae Johnson and moved into the first round of the draft to get WR Xavier Legette. They spent $150 million on guards Robert Hunt and Damien Lewis to shore up the middle of the offensive line. They used a second-round pick on Jonathon Brooks, the top running back in the draft. They hired a head coach in Dave Canales known for turning around quarterbacks. If Young doesn't show marked improvement, Carolina will have a high draft pick again and will again be looking for a franchise quarterback.

They just need to find a steroid that will make him grow 5 inches taller and add 35 pounds. He'll do great then.

Tiny QBs only succeed in the NFL if they can run around like crazy, like a Benny Hill gag reel with the saxophone blaring in the background. A 5'10" pocket guy has little chance to make it IMHO.

'Yakety Sax' is the name of the song and I had it for two years as my ringtone for any incoming calls:
