I see you Minnesotans received some white, fluffy goodness at the end of March. Yuck. High of 25 today. God bless you guys......but never again for me.  Wink

Vikings sure seem confident in their ability to land one of the top QBs despite having the 11th pick. And Mark Wilf in his interview the other day was almost beaming when talking about their "plan." Makes me wonder if the Vikings don't have a Godfather agreement with all of the teams between 2 and 5.

I think its just due diligence. I just don't sense a 'Godfather' agreement.....in fact, I think some fans are going to be a little disappointed if they think Minnesota is going to move up to a slot above #5. What my opinion is is that KOC and KAM believe that QBs aren't going to go 1, 2, 3....somebody is going to slide. I think they've convinced ownership of this. I also think the Wilfs are a little glad to move on from Cousins and move forward on what 'could be'. I think ownership felt they were at their ceiling of success with Kirk under center and they want more. Or they like a QB like Penix, Nix, etc. damn close to what they like about JJM or Maye. One of those two things.

Chicago, Washington and New England need a QB as desperately as Minnesota. I wish that weren't the case. And then the Giants. I just can't fathom there would be any real confidence in a plan to move up with all the moving parts. I think its mostly a facade to keep fans intrigued.

Or you're right, MB....lol. I can't discount that 100%. I just can't see the path.

It seems a bit much for due diligence. I don't think they'd be wasting their time if they didn't have a path make it happen. You don't see them doing work on Caleb Williams. There's no shot there. But for a team with the 11th pick, they sure seem to be doing a lot of work on players projected to go 2, 3 and 4. Maybe it's not a deal yet, or even a handshake agreement. But there's something there that is driving this.

I guess I dont see anything in the Vikings behavior that leads me to believe they got themselves a wink, a nod, a secret handshake with anyone...All just doing their due diligence.

I've pretty much given-up on getting a top 4 QB. too many needy teams ahead of us. I'm prepped for Darnold in 24 and a DL @ 11.

As far as the snow goes, boy did we need it. Literally nothing on the ground a week ago which is unheard of. Plus we're coming out of a drought this past summer/fall too. The earth and critters needed this snowfall, now I hope it rains like hell in April.

Its bad here.

Are they spending all this time with JJM because the real target is someone else?  Considering the secret squirrel mentality that permeates TCO, telegraphing JJM to the world seems out of character, a smokescreen...?

As for the Giants, I'm not sure Brian Daboll wants to start with a rookie in year 3 when it might put him out of a job if it blows up in his face.

For what it’s worth, PFF’s big board has JJM at 28, Nix at 33 and Penix at 42.  QB’s are over drafted and we didn’t trade with the Texans so we could stand pat, but if our board doesn’t fall and a massive overpay is required, there will be players we like at 11 and 23.
If KAM/KOC decide one of those 3 is worthy of 11, I’ll get behind it and hope they are right.

in the history of PFF, has any notable QB worth taking been gotten at their position on the big board or later?  I always kind of assume that whatever the pundits say for a QB... move it up about 30 picks.
