 Vikings are in a tough spot and vulnerable to having   at least 1 of the 4 teams behind them trading up to pick 8-10 to draft their QBOTF.

If McCarthy goes in Top 7, and a team  behind Vikings does indeed  leapfrog Vikings somewhere between 8-10. It'd mean the Vikings get the #6 option at QB with the 11th pick.....

Vikings will have to trade up if they want a QB IMO.

There’s no doubt in my mind we have backed ourselves into the corner of having to move up to get a QB.  It’s just a matter of his much it’s going to cost to go get the one KOC wants. I’m guessing there aren’t more than 2 guys that fit the bill, so there’s no way they’re leaving this to chance or just see who falls to them. 

Kwesi has absolutely no choice other than to go get our QBOTF at any and all costs. Letting Cousins walk and having Darnold on a 1 year deal basically proves this. If they AT ALL had any faith or hope in Sam Darnold, they would have signed him to a longer deal. 

That being said, they better hope they get it right because it’s likely going to cost us multiple firsts. They blow this pick and they’re all fired because they’ll nuke this “competitive” window they’re trying to open.

if it doesnt work its hardly the death nell. You’ll just be back in a couple years. nut you also have to draft wisely which has been a concern. San Fran traded 3 firsts to move up for Lance not long ago. But they made hay in the draft. Same scenario with Philadelphia

of course they had to let one of their own free agents walk though in the process.  IMO the sign of a rookie contract that is working is when you can have your cake and eat it too.  add to the talent you have,  not swapping talent for talent.

Might be just a matter of fit. Hunter may be a better fit in Houston's 4-3 defense.

Oh I'm with you. It's past time we took a shot at a QB and I'm not afraid of whiffing even though it'll be annoying. I just wish Sam Darnold wasn't the guy behind door #2.

I don’t think there’s 4-5 QBs out of this group that we like, or that fit our scheme. Unless they want to gamble their jobs and the future of this franchise on someone falling to them at pick 11, they HAVE to trade up

They’re supposedly opening new “competing window” for 2025. If they whiff on a QB this year, it closes unless they go find another free agent QB who they think can help us win a chip (like we did with Cousins). A mishanling like that will probably cost someone their job.

Of these guys I think Tua is the only one with game who might hit FA. The rest are either on the backup track or will get signed/tagged. Maybe Goff too I suppose if Detroit likes Hooker.
