Thanks for the memories. Quality stand up guy.
But no thanks on a 4 year deal.

KC, good luck with your new team! Out of curiousity, I think I'll keep an eye on the Falcons this year. Viking fan, blood is purple but I'm predicting no better than 500 this season. We'll be nothing special. We will find out if KOC is the QB whisperer...

With all of the tampering that goes on I’d love to know how this convo went over the weekend.
KAM- 2 years, $76M sounds fair Kirk- ATL says 2 years, $100M GTD and 2 more after that KAM- $%!& Edit- even if the Atlanta deal only ends up being 2 “real” years, I understand the hesitancy to match that guaranteed money. Regardless, we’re in a bind. Big time. I know opinions on Fields are mixed but if I’m KAM I’m on the phone with Chicago yesterday. Our other options are somewhere between trash and a flaming bag of…

Quote: @IDVikingfan said:Thats what he was brought here to do! Kirko improved under KOC, so I am optimistic he can bring along a rook. IF they can draft a decent one.

I'll remember the Kirk year's for the bind he put the team in by taking advantage of bad management with his shrewd negotiating tactics and the fact that he had multiple superstar receivers to throw to that aloud him to put up gawdy numbers alot if it during mop up duty only to check down and/or crumble in the pocket when you really needed a play to be made. That and a few great plays, pass to Thielen in the Saints playoff game, Jefferson throw and catch in Bills game come to mind.
I'll remember the above even more than the one piece that the team needed amounted to one playoff win. Good luck Kirk. I hope you do to Atlanta exactly what you did to the other teams you played for.

Would someone smarter than me please explain how the "tampering" thing works. I know all teams do it...BUT
How would the Vikings proceed? How is it verified, and what potential outcomes for the Vikings? I always thought IF PROVEN, the team doing the "tampering" just loses a draft pick....nothing goes to the team that lost the player... 'lil help?

"After significant and positive dialogue with Kirk and his representatives, we were unable to reach agreement on a contract that fits the short and long-term visions for both Kirk and the Minnesota Vikings. Kirk holds a special place in Vikings history, and we appreciate his leadership and contributions to the team and the Minneapolis-St. Paul community over the past six seasons. We wish him, his wife, Julie, and their children all the best.
Our approach heading into free agency always included layers of contingencies regarding the quarterback position. We are moving forward with plans that allow us to continue building a roster that can compete for a championship." – Vikings General Manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah

It hurts and it helps. LOL Go get that decent bridge QB and get into the top 4 picks. Lots of money to spend now with him out of the building.
