What's your ideal scenario over the next 3 months?

For me it would be as follows:
  • Edge/DT at the #11 spot
  • Move up for JJ McCarthy end of round 1
  • Sign Kirk Cousins to 2-year contract
I'd be extremely stoked about this possibility. What's your ideal scenario?
If Kirk's deal is not Team friendly I am ok with rent a QB for 1-2 years.
...until it turns into a hellish Carolina landscape... :p

I'll be an early contrarian:

Sign KC to a 2 year
Re-Sign Hunter
Move up for Daniels

I said this in the other thread, but this really would be best case scenario IMO, provided Kirk's extension is reasonable without kicking more dead cap into future years. We need to get off that carousel

I just don't think the top 3 QBs are for sale at any price.

to those saying resign Cousins... what is the number?  keep in mind we already owe 14 on him for the next 2 years,  how much more on top of that works for you?  My number is obviously much lower than reality so even though I would be supportive of resigning him,  I have to say move on from Kirk,
extend Hunter,
ework Hitman without adding bullshit years,
approach JJs camp,  but not really a requirement ( would be nice to have him locked up though )
find the best bridge guy we can in the lower to mid 20s per year ( add incentives if they somehow really flourish in our system just to make it enticing )
identify realistic QBs and dont get cute in the draft,  they all get over drafted,  just because JJ or whoever should fall to the 2nd, I dont see them being there at 31 or 32,  take them when you can and move on.

Use all available cap space to shore up OL, DL, LB/Edge positions,  if there are quality players fitting needs coming off rookie deals,  or short 2nd term deals  lets fix this in a hurry.

We may still not be a contender in 24, but dammit I am sick of the  OL and DL being the rubber stamp excuse,  let focus on fixing this and get the future QB in house.

Ideal would be Andy Reid and Kelce retiring and Mahomes forcing his way to Minnesota because reasons.

Remotely plausible ideal which is also not happening would be-

1. Resign Jefferson for 5 years
2. Resign Kirk for 2 years with an easy out after one
3. Draft a top 4 QB (including Mccarthy)
4. Sign Belichick as a defensive consultant
5. Resign Risner and upgrade from Bradbury somehow
6. Resign Hunter
7. The Wilfs pinky swear to sell the team in 5 years if they haven’t reached the Super Bowl in that time

It's certainly not the 90 million guaranteed two year deal that he is reportedly looking for. There is just no way you make that kind of investment on a 36 year old coming off a major injury that could affect him moving forward. There's no way. That's why I say I'd only like him back on a reasonable extension that protects the teams cap interests moving forward. No more kicking the can down the road to pay him. With that said, he certainly gives us the best chance to win for NEXT season whenever he is available to do so from the injury. If Kirk holds tight on his demands and they don't fit into the Vikings future cap considerations, then let Atlanta or some other team roll those dice on Kirk and give him the guarantees he wants. I'd rather sign another veteran than give Kirk guaranteed big money only for him to play a handful of games and be hurt once again and the Vikings being on the hook to pay him moving forward. That's the real gamble.
