Al Michaels
#11
I've always liked Michaels, he is one of the classic voices in sports announcing history, I think it has gone under the radar that over all the years he has been on the air that he has probably been one of the most neutral announcers and rarely comes across as biased, just tells it like it is.

I was really surprised and disappointed during the Thanksgiving game of his reaction when they brought they brought out the special Thanksgiving sandwiches that a chef who was there on the broadcast was making for them, he quickly dismissed them which I thought was really disrespectful to the chef was working hard to prepare them.

I quit liking Michaels back in 1987 when he was in the booth for the Twins World Series games.  He acted like he was too good for the Metrodome (mentioned something about "slumming"), and publicly made accusations the Twins "pumped in" artificial crowd noise.  I really got the feeling he couldn't accept the Twins were just simply the best team in MLB that season.I couldn't stand the guy and thought he was an arrogant whiner; I've never liked him since.
I don't think there's any doubt he has a level of arrogance....like sometimes you get the impression he thinks its a bit beneath him.
kind of crazy that a guy whos fame sits solely on him sitting in a box talking about sports could get a big head.  I dont care how recognizable the name is... he's really no different that any of us bums except somebody put a microphone in front of him at some point.   However his call in the 80 Olympics.... still gives me goosebumps to hear it.
Bob Costas was an intellectual, but I never ever thought he talked down to his audience or felt above sports. Al seems like sometimes he'd rather be doing something else 'more important'.
