In my eyes Ty Chandler is the best running back on the team. Every time he touches the ball you see a burst of speed you don't see with Mattison or Akers. He's also a very good receiver out of the backfield. 

So why is he not starting? Good question. I can only guess that it's because they don't trust him in pass protection. I also heard a rumor earlier this year that he has bad practice habits. No idea if that's true, but for a team struggling to run the ball so much (yes, most of that is on the OL), you would think you can forgive practice habits to get something going in the run game.
