This is correct but they will not.
I'd say:
60% Hunter gets re-signed at some point (W)
30% Hunter walks in FA (Big L)
10% Hunter gets traded today (W)

Agreed.  And going forward next year requires some talent as well.  Trading away premium talent that understands the defense seems like a bad idea.
