It still looks like the Vikings, who begin training camp next week, will place QB Teddy Bridgewater (major knee injury) on the NFL’s physically unable to perform list, meaning he can work out on the side but not partake in official practices.
The next big date for Bridgewater would be Sept. 2. If he’s still on the PUP list then, he would be required to miss the first six games on the season.
It won’t be surprising if Bridgewater and his agent end up claiming by the end of the exhibition games that he’s physically healthy enough to play. If that becomes an issue, it could end up going to an arbitrator. Had Bridgewater not tragically gotten hurt last spring, he could have expected a mega-high-paying contract.
Bridgewater, 24, is under contract this season for $1.35 million. He can become an unrestricted free agent after the 2018 season.
