You either get the NFL pro offense or you don't. You throw guys open or you don't. You can process or you can't. The physical attributes end up meaning little.

Speaking of draft picks that never panned out, the Cardinals just traded their 2020 8th overall pick Isaiah Simmons to the Giants for a 7th round draft pick. Woof...

Busts happen. I'd venture to say upwards of 75% of 3rd round QB's last fewer then 3 years in the league

I was excited when we drafted him because it at least showed me that after years of neglecting the QB pipeline that Rick was maybe possibly finally waking up to the fact that having someone who wasn’t Mannion in the QB room might not be such a bad thing. Shame that guy was Mond and he turned out to stink.

Sidenote- I know Mond was/is bad but I still can’t believe Zimmer started Mannion in the game against GB after Kirk got Covid. Once that happened and Mannion predictably stunk out the joint and we got rolled, I knew without a doubt it was time to clean house.

and they still should have,  Zimmer was being a dick,  like so many said when he got here,  his schtick would work as long as the team was winning,  once that changed, so did he,  helluva defensive coach,  shit head coach, and overall pretty much a dick.

Yeah, Z was being a dick here for sure. And I think you accurately cover him with your reply above. Just because Mond sucked doesn't mean it ok for Z to be a giant prick.

Especially when his other option was Mannion, as I said above.

Speaking for all fans and all viewers everywhere, I can say unequivocally that none of us wanted or needed to see more of Mannion either, Zim.

I don’t know, but I think that if Mond merely performed bad
but was a good character guy who was actively trying hard to get better he
wouldn’t have gotten that terse of a reply from Zimmer.  I think Zimmer’s response clearly shows
disgust for the question as well as disgust for Mond.  Was it a dick move from Zimmer?  Sure.
Was the media guy being a dick when he asked the question?  Absolutely.
Is Mond also a dick for being a complete waste of a roster spot and
coasting through his NFL career and earning the wrath of the head coach who
helped draft him?  Speculative but
probably.  I guess I struggle with feeling
too bad for a guy who’s pissing his future away when the head coach gives you a
little too much insight into what’s actually happening, rather than sugarcoating
it and keeping the problems in house.
