There was protests outside Disney over the weekend with guys/gals (if we're able to assume gender still) with nazi flags and Desantis campaign information.......you know because that totally happened and wasn't a staged anti Desantis photo op.
If the left thinks they can convince anyone that Desantis is some sort of white wizard with such a ridiculous event, they've got us wrong.
they dont have to convince you or I, they just need to convince those swing voters that there might be segment of the population that would believe that nonsense. It makes voter fraud easier to sell if people actually think its possible that enough people would believe that staged garbage to vote for Biden. With Trump its easy, hell I am not convinced that there was enough fraud to have swung the election, I think things were suspect at the least with the timing of different things, but it was Trump after all, very very plausible that he did indeed lose the election, however as bad as things have gotten in the last 2 years and only looking to continue to slide... if it is anybody but Trump its going to take a hell of smear campaign and a much bigger fraud campaign to pull it off once again.
Thats why there's been the constant piling on with Desantis. It'll shift to whomever else becomes a front runner if its not going to ultimately be Desantis.
The vast majority of my friends in Madison are liberal. Even before DeSantis' profile was raised to a national level, I was struck by the negative references to DeSantis here. I hadn't paid mcuh attention. The liberal machine had already started to go after him as a threat. That sentiment certainly intensified during Covid with several friends near apoplectic that DeSantis was virtually murdering people in Florida. The reality is Florida and Wisconsin's death rate was about the same...with Florida having a much older population. And now...certainly DeSantis is a dangerous homophobe in our LGBTQ friendly community. They'll keep going after him. Can a sexual assault accuser with two front doors be far behind?

Yeah he sure is a victim, and an angry one too. You don't want to get him mad at you.

This seems to sum up where I am at on the election at this point. Except to add that neither the swing vote, nor those running the elections, will allow Trump to get into the White House again, he is the only way that Biden has an ice cubes chance in hell of getting re-elected. I wouldnt be surprised if Biden were replaced if Trump were to drop out as the Dems know that he would get killed by anybody other than Trump.
What is funny is last weeks big news here in flyover country was ND Governor Burgum announced his candidacy for president, although he doesnt make the list of also rans anywhere.
Prepare for Four More Years of BidenAttacks on Trump have been never ending, and since Ron DeSantis gained nationwide exposure, mainstream media has constantly looked for ways to also attack him. However, lately I’m seeing more and more attacks on both candidates coming from the Right, including a lot of fake memes showing DeSantis with globalists, Trump-Fauci hugs, and other such garbage. Shouldn’t it be obvious the Left wants a civil war on the Right so their puppet candidate can get another term? Desantis is like Trump without the personal attacks and as much of the baggage, but in what I believe is a leftist-engineered campaign, they’re trying to make him sound like another Establishment Republican along the lines of Jeb Bush and Mitt Romney. Please. Would one of those RINOs have stood strong against Disney and what the media misbranded the “Dont Say Gay” bill? Would they have the courage to open Florida during peak Covid fascism months? Would they have brought on medical experts to question the Covid vaccine & mask worship? Would they have the courage to pursue legislation to counter Big Tech censorship and lack of parental choice in schools? As for Trump, I think the best argument in favor of his election is the enemies he has against him — RINOs, the media, Big Tech, Hollywood, corrupt DA’s, etc.
When primary season hits, it is fair for Trump & Desantis to debate & challenge each other, but if either of them pursues such a scorched Earth attack line that they guarantee another Biden term, they will lose my support. BTW, I don’t think you’ll find a single person in the country who believes Mike Pence or Chris Christie can win the Republican nomination, much less the Presidency. They’re purely members of the Establishment Republican hit squad designed to attack Trump, Desantis, and their supporters — anything to get us back to the Uniparty candidates that governed us most of the past few decades.
The swing vote if fairly tabulated would favor Trump over Biden, imho. But, like you said, the people running these elections in the swing states will do everything in their power to steal it from him. The issue is, they'll do the same for whoever the Republican nominee is. It's a massive and coordinated effort at this point that has the protection of the govt agencies who in turn are rewarded with even more power. I don't know the answer, but I do know it only gets worse the more that people choose to look the other way. Very frustrating and scary time in our nation right now.
I think you under estimate the amount of people that Trump alienated.
I don't know about that. I know he alienated quite a few, but how many is anyone's guess. How many are alienated as a result of the barrage of BS that's been leveled against him unfairly since day 1? You're asking him to take on the full onslaught of the govt agencies, social and mainstream media. I guess it is what it is, but what choice has he really had but to call a spade a spade in many cases? Of course, then he says many things that he doesn't need to say that makes him appear childish and petty. We all wish he'd stop that crap. Still, the fact is he had many more votes in 2020 than he did in 2016. But with the help of nursing home caregivers, door to door ballot harvesters, and mail in ballot fraud, could any Republican win in 2024, with sleepy Joe supposedly getting 81MM votes, many of them late at night in the swing states? All of that either needs to be one-upped or eliminated in the swing states, or this election robbery is going to be the permanent way in the USA. And I think almost all know it isn't on the up and up.
many swing voters didnt care that he lost, so they dont care that he may not have lost fairly. If you want those swing voters to give a shit about voter fraud, then give them a candidate that they care about so if somebody does try and pull shit, they wont sit back and stay silent. Trump lost that election before any votes were cast. as far as those lining up against him, he brought that on himself in many cases. a better candidate will be harder to fraudulently steal from IMO.
I hope, but am not confident that is is as you say it is.

we got our 40%, they got their 40%, I dont really give two shits what a liberal hotbed thinks as you could march MLK out as our candidate and they would come up with some reason why not to vote for him. Liberals will eat their own quicker than anything else in nature, and certainly dont need anything factual or reasonable to openly oppose any that disagree with them. The same is true for about half the conservatives, they wont bother to watch or listen to any non republican candidate and will believe about anything said against them as gospel.

honestly, I dont have much faith in our election system so I wouldnt say I'm confident, but I will say that I am less confident in Trump as a candidate than I am DeSantis when it comes to getting peoples attention over voting irregularities. the silence from the RINOs after the last election wasnt as much about the "evidence" as it was about them not giving a shit about a guy that had never shown them any respect unless they were boot lickers. Also, there is a protocol in politics, right or wrong, there is a way they do things and an outsider that causes ripples in the pond is never welcomed by either party.
I'll steal a page from Zanary's gospel and wish the system gave us better choices than it historically has.
Hell, minimally we need to draw an age line where someone just cannot run for POTUS past a certain point in life.
I'll tell you one candidate who preaches some viewpoints that resonate with me, and that Chris Christie. I dont think he stands a chance in hell of getting the nod, but his views on Ukraine, abortion, Social Security, border security, China - all ring true for me.

I think you could fine universal backing on age and term limits from “both sides”

I have always been a huge proponent on term limits, but one drawback I have seen, once a politician is a lame duck, they really become ripe for special interests to target since the official knows they are done and dont have to worry about running again and facing their opponents bringing up these dealings.

The flip side is they could vote their continence in their last term. Its not like the party could go back on them.
Assuming they were done and not moving on to the next office.
