Day 2
#11
I'd hope it would be for Joey Porter Jr.

A ton of day 1 starters are still there. More on offense than defense but there are still some good options for us to look at to fill our defensive holes.

Branch
Porter Jr.
Ojulari
Phillips III
Drew Sanders
Keion White
Keeanu Benton-This is who I really want them to go get.
Simpson
Ringo

Very difficult to see many of these still available if we stay put and do nothing. If we have some picks coming back for expected trades after the draft, then don't be shy borrowing draft capital from 2024 to make some moves and get some impact players.

Apparently, several teams called Pittsburgh last night before the 1st round ended about pick 2.1. And this morning, a twitter rumor said the Vikings were one of them. I find that hard to believe. But if they do move ALL the way from 87 to 32, it has to be for Hooker I think. I don't see moving that far for another position.
My guess is Alabama defensive back Brian Branch.  Versatile, play slot rookie season and then move to safety.
I know Flores loves him, but if they do, I think it's gotta be for a QB I think. With QBs there are 5 and then you're drafting backups. With position players, I don't think there's enough difference between them to justify the cost.

Don't sleep on DJ Turner as a lower 2nd or early 3rd. A good move without having to give up much.

That would be a great move if we could engineer a trade up.

I dont even think I am going to watch tonight.  Theres some good players here and I just dont think we are going to make the kind of moves to add more than 1 of them.... and honestly,  at this point,  I hope they dont.  If they arent going to commit to a rebuild,  then I dont want them wasting future draft capital on a half assed effort.

I still dont see the plan,  I will acknowledge that there likely is one,  I just dont see it yet.

I think the plan is BPA.  I agree with not drafting D just to draft D.  They have holes on both sides of the ball, and getting the best impact player that also fills a hole is a great strategy.
The Addison highlights reminds me quite a bit of Diggs.  He might bust, but I haven't read any scouting reports that expect that.I won't be watching either.  I just hope the Wild can somehow win tonight - Go Wild!

that BPA thing is all fine and well as long as the team is race ready,  but when you have a team that is paying a veteran QB big money,  and has as many holes as we do,  those BPA better fit some real need,  or you are not improving your team,  or your odds of getting over whatever hump you may be facing.  We need something to either make our O go from top 10, to generational,  or our D from 31st,  to middle of the pack, otherwise they need to admit that this round is lost and start looking for a new window to build towards and decide what players wont be worth hanging onto to try and make something of that window.

This team can win. If we dont run the shitty _onettel D that will help a lot.

I see us pretty much spending the rest of the draft on D unless Hooker gets within firing range.

Painful to watch some of these names come off the board and realizing we don't pick again for another 37 selections....FFFF
