The announcement came one week after Fox News settled a defamation lawsuit with Dominion Voting Systems for $787.5 million over the network’s dissemination of election lies.
Fox News said that Carlson’s last show was Friday, April 21.
I suspect the realities of what goes on at these networks would make the Morning Show pale and blush in comparison.
We may never know why he's out, but it wouldnt surprise me if it wasn't at least somewhat tied to all those leaks b4 the Dominion settlement.

He knowingly lied on the air about the dominion voting machines. I didn't read it, they played the audio of him talking behind the scenes about it being bullshit. Thus...fucked around and found out.

I read your comment as meaning he was committing adultery, a common assumption when accusing someone of f***ing around. Adultery has lead to journalists being fired.
Was he mentioned in the Dominion lawsuit. According to CNN:
"For all the interest in big-name witnesses and eye-opening private text messages, at the core of the defamation lawsuit filed by Dominion Voting Systems against Fox News are 20 specific broadcasts and tweets in which the voting company says Fox knowingly promoted lies, destroying its reputation.
According to the lawsuit, all 20 statements took place between November 8, 2020, and January 26, 2021, and came in the form of on-air comments from Fox hosts Jeanine Pirro, Lou Dobbs and Maria Bartiromo; interviews with prominent pro-Trump election deniers Sidney Powell, Rudy Giuliani and Mike Lindell; and several of Dobbs’ tweets."

Tucker is not on the above list given by CNN and they would hardly run interference for him and would relish the thought to defame him. Not defending Carlson, I just hadn't heard that Dominion named him in their lawsuit which one would expect if true,
This seems to go through all the Fox BS. Though a googling of Tucker and firing seems to say he sexually discrimination.
We may never know the real story. I read an article where apparently today's show was in preparation and the lead story was going to be about the Dominion case. The head of Fox News axed the story and today's show. Was Carlson fired or did he quit? Who knows, probably a NDA signed as you suggested.
The sexual discrimination (harassment?) is a new allegation. May or may not be true. We'll find out more if it progresses to court or a plea deal. Innocent until proven guilty, always the best way to look at allegations, IMO...
