I think it means a Cook trade is more likely now, but with plenty of money the Vikings aren't in any hurry and can wait for the best offer. Could be a draft day trade.
They could also just keep him, but I tend to think that Mattison wouldn't sign with the Vikings without some sort of signal from the team that Cook won't be there.

FWIW Mattison is the youngest RB the Vikings have on the roster.
He is still only 23 years old, I believe. It's weird, but I'm pretty sure Hunter was the same thing, they were both drafted when they were 20 years old. IMO this was solid move
