Interesting facts:

1. Saints haven't used a 1st or 2nd round pick on a QB since 1971.
2. Since 2011, only three teams have used more round 1-3 picks on QBs than the Vikings.
*sigh*
that is pretty damn depressing,  and yet another blemish on ol RS's resume.

Ponder was a bad pick. Bridgewater was bad luck with a freak injury. And Mond was what so many fans have always wanted, take a flier on a potential franchise qb. Beside the desperation Ponder pick, its not a terrible history for a team that seldom picks in the top half of the first round.

RS's issue wasn't QB picks in round 1 or 2, it was the lack of QB picks in round 3-5 that have a chance of competing with picks in round 1 or 2.

they never targeted a guy and went after them,  they always stood still and picked through the garbage, even with Teddy,  if they really wanted Teddy,  they would have moved up ahead of the browns and took Teddy,  fact is they have never made a real effort to fix their QB position woes outside of paying out the ass in FA.

I wanted them to dump Daunte and take Aaron Rodgers.  Passed on him twice.  I knew he was going to end up in Green Bay... just a ringing alarm in my gut that had me screaming at the t.v. on that draft day years ago.   Just take him and trade him to someone if you love Daunte, but for god's sake keep him out of Green Bay.   It's not like Troy Williamson and Erasmus James were ever worth a hill of manure.   When you draft that bad you deserve years of mediocrity.

That's kind of an ouch or am I outdated on my assessment?

Considering Danial Jones is asking for $45 mil per year I would say Carr is a bargain.  Would rather have him than Jones.

This is all on Woody owner of the Jets wanting Rogers and not Carr...

I think they had Carr in that building twice and either couldn't get it done, or made it clear he was their 2nd choice.

Jets have a great young team except @ QB and they may very well end up with no Rogers either.

Fools...

It puts him behind Rodgers, Russell Wilson, Kyler Murray, Deshaun Watson, and Dak who all signed recent extensions.  It's just in front of Cousins in terms of AAV.

Like Greylock said, it's probably a bargain when considering the average annual salary and guarantees compared to some of the other young QBs and formerly elite vets who signed extensions in the past year.

the devil is in the details,  otherwise its not a bad deal at face value just based on average,  as long as its not all guaranteed,  the team has trade rights, or some other ways the team can move on sooner if its not working out.
