Here in TN we’re rolling blackouts. We had our first unannounced a bit ago for 1/2 hour.  Never had that as an issue here before.

That sucks, really cold here too but it's supposed to start warming up over the weekend.

Its 10 degrees warmer today than yesterday,   we are up to minus 9 right now,  but with 40 to 50mph winds that makes the wind chill closer to 45 below and you can't see a damn thing with all the snow blowing around.  They said last night they are seeing the snow in ND on the radar getting picked up and coming hundreds of miles south east into SD.  I'm hoping it just keeps on going until its in Illinois.

our cold front moved through Sunday and Monday - got down to a chilly 74.

Back up to 82 today.

It’s cold here on the southern tip of Lake Michigan. Snowing and blowing, with the 24 mph wind it feels like -27.

Supposed to be 50 on Wednesday!

Here in Worthington (SW MN) it's been below zero since Wed. afternoon. It's currently -7 with 30 mph wind.  Tomorrow's forecast high?  -4.  At least we didn't get much of the snow portion of the storm.

And yet all things considered Buffalo  NY is getting it even worse.  Not as cold, but hurricane-strength wind gusts causing storm-surge lakeshore flooding (which then freezes), plus feet of lake effect snow.  Completely closed down the airport this afternoon.  Merry freaking Christmas  :#

Worthington?! I'm sure you already know this, but this was one of the towns featured in Ken Burns Vietnam doc. Always thought that was the perfect representative of midwestern, small-town America.

We move out of the freezer today. After a couple days of sub-zero, Denver gets sunshine and 50 the next couple days.

More load shedding today.

FYI, turns out Titan tickets are cheap as F for todays game. $60 or so in the lower bowl. $15-20 nosebleeds.
