Yes, I believe it is Scheme fit for him and other veterans on this Defense. Kendricks is even worse of a no show in most games. He is a downhill Linebacker. When he is around the line of scrimmage, he can still make things happen. They have him dropping into the Middle Zone and expect him to cover crossing WR's. He's an easy target and looks completely lost. This is why I keep asking where is Asamoah, and why is he not getting any snaps on defense when we could definitely use his sideline to sideline speed and ability to cover in space? It made zero sense to draft Cine as he doesn't fit the scheme either. One thing Donatell's scheme has done is revitalize Patrick Peterson. He's has said many times how much he loves playing in this defense. It's going to take a lot more work to fix all of our issues. Booth was a boom/bust player and as of now, he's a bust because he can't stay healthy which has always been his issue and I don't see that changing. With Ingram's struggles, Evans is probably the best player we drafted along with our undrafted 245 lb punter.

Yet somehow they are 9/2 in spite of it. Doesnt inspire confidence for post-season though, does it?
It'll be interesting to see if they keep Donatell after this season. There could be some huge roster turn over on that side of the ball too.

Peterson loves this D because nobody has to challenge him, the rest of the receivers run free so he is the toughest coverage out there by default. If we had better coverage opposite of him, and he was getting thrown at more, I wonder if he would still be loving it?

Kendricks is the biggest villain IMO. I've been a Kendricks fan for years, but I don't think he's suited particularly well for this defense. He's not big enough to cover for the lack of an anchor at nose. And he appears to have lost a step in coverage. Hicks is just a guy. He flashes, but has been largely inconsistent.

Wrong talent for the wrong system. I know that 3-4 is better for the modern NFL but we don't have the roster for it yet. It will take a couple of years to make the switch.
The great coaches coach to the talent of the team, the less talented ones know one system and that is all they stick with. The defensive talent on this team is not built for a 3-4, it is not even close, we don't have the big NT that you need and we do not have one 3-4 DE, Hunter is built for a 4-3 as is our LBs. This DC has continued to force a square peg into a round hole all year and it is not working. Mac Jones hasn't thrown for that many yards since pee wee football!
