Viking's game predictions: national media
#1
FoxSports Prediction: The Eagles had better hope their Week 1 performance on defense was an anomaly, because the NFC East is wide open and they have dreams of being a contender. But it won't happen if they can't fix all those defensive holes. The Vikings, on the other hand, looked like the complete package last week. Yes, the Packers don't have great receivers, but they still have Aaron Rodgers, and he did not look like his usual dominant self in Week 1. Plus, the Vikings won with a pedestrian performance from Dalvin Cook (20 carries, 90 yards). Until the Eagles' defense proves otherwise, Philly probably can't stop teams with offenses that are this strong and diverse. The Eagles’ only hope is a shootout, and the Vikings’ defense might be too good to allow that.
Vikings 30, Eagles 20 — Ralph Vacchiano

CBS Sports Prisco: This is one of the best games of the week, with two 1-0 teams coming off impressive victories. The Minnesota defense was outstanding last week against the Packers, but this is a different style of offense. The Eagles will roll to a lot of points here, but the Vikings will get theirs too. This will be a shootout with the Eagles getting the best of it.
Pick: Eagles 32, Vikings 26

CBS Sports Breech: I was so impressed with the Vikings in Week 1 that I've already decided that I won't be picking against them for the rest of the month, so obviously, that means I have to take them here. Also, I can't pick the Eagles because this is Week 2 and they burn me every year in Week 2. I'm not even kidding. The Eagles are somehow 0-5 both straight up and against the spread in Week 2 over the past five years. Maybe they should start asking to get their bye in Week 2.
The pick: Vikings 23-20 over Eagles

I tend to think Philly will get over in a close one, but I’d love to be wrong. Even if we do lose, so long as it’s close I don’t think anyone would be mad with a 1-1 start including a division victory over GB. A win Monday would be total gravy for me and if it happens the hype around this team will really go nuclear, which would be a lot of fun. Wish we didn’t have to wait the extra day but I’m looking forward to Monday!

I really hate when the Vikes play on MNF. I will be really surprised if they win this game.

Factoring in that the Eagles are a pretty good team, it's their home opener and it's at night game this will be an uphill battle for the Vikes.

Hopefully Kirk and the Vikes can overcome their night game woes and they come away victorious. Will definitely have to be a complete game for this to happen.

Like pattersaur said as long they're competitive and it's close I won't be too disappointed with a loss. A win would be much better of course.

QB - Tie (Cousins is better, but Hurts is more dangerous)
RB - Vikings
WR/TE - Vikings
OL - Eagles
IDL - Eagles
ED - Vikings
LB - Vikings
DB - Eagles
ST - Vikings

Intangibles - Eagles
Playing on Monday night is bad enough. Playing Monday night, on the road, in their home opener is bad news.
Both teams 1-0, but the Vikings looked a lot better in their victory against Green Bay than Philly did in Detroit. If we successfully spy Hurts with a guy like Cine or Asamoah, I don’t think they can beat us. But that’s a big if.

At my age “big ifs” are what you play, recovery or saving face, sailed a while ago.  It’s like farting in church, used to look around, now I just shrug and smile.

Screw it... I'm picking the Vikes by 7 or more.  I think the coaching on defense and offense will have the players ready, and Reagor gets a revenge TD on MNF - how sweet would that be? B)
