Newman wasn't impressed
#1
There's still a few thinking it wasn't Zimmer that derailed the team the last few years,  often talking about his former players that came to play for him in minny as evidence.  None were likely more a Zimmer guy then T Newman and he is quoted here as describing the last few years here as toxic ( i assume he is taking that from former teammates that were still with the team )  the fact that Spielman allowed this type of environment to continue is likely the number 1 reason he was let go as well.

A former unnnamed coordinator refers to zim as "Satan ",  anybody want to bet it was flipper?

You don't usually leave a trail of guys taking shots at you from behind unless you really are a total dickwad.

You can see the last year and a half Z ratcheted up the cranky and belligerent demeanor. Zimmer did have some things happen that were out of his control and IMO it pissed him off and made him much more toxic than maybe he was earlier in his tenure with Minnesota. Newman was as big a Z advocate as there was, so this is very telling. I'm not surprised. A change was very necessary.

didn't just about every OC here have good cause?

Stories and tales like this are just confirming of a by-gone era for me.

Glad to be moving on, and I wish Mike well.

At some point he'll speak to the press/fans regarding his tenure here. That should be fun stuff.

I would say it was pretty much flipper and norm.   The rest left on their own terms,  unless you are referring to Zims unwavering insistence to be a run first team in a pass favored game.

The one I regret the most was Shurmur leaving...Can't help but wonder "what if" if he had stuck around longer...

Speaking of the Giants, Daboll is getting lots of good national press for the coaching staff he put together.
