Biden taps into our national oil reserve to help ease a crisis that his policies have helped create, and then he is shipping our oil to China? how does this not infuriate every American?

yes its Fox, but regardless the source, that oil has been stored for strategic needs like in times of war and natural disasters to help protect our country.... why in the fuck are we shipping it to one of our worst adversaries in terms of how they abuse the US?
this is just fucking dumb.
Why isn't Chuck Foreman in the Hall of Fame?
"More than five million barrels of oil released from the Strategic
Petroleum Reserve (SPR) have been diverted to European and Asian nations
instead of U.S. refiners, Reuters reported Wednesday, citing customs
data."
That doesn't say it went to China. It might have gone to China, but oil to European and Asian nations doesn't equate to China. Currently the USA is using 19.78M/Barrels per day. We can refine about 17.9M/barrels per day. Leaving 1.88M/barrels per day shortfall. So we need to ship some oil off just to refine it, turn it around and have it imported back to us. The article is talking about 5 million barrels that have gone off shore or 1.9% of the 260M released. To me that sounds reasonable that some of our supply would get offshored if we didn't have the refining capacity.
Maybe, the Democrats could approve a refinery or 2 so we could get back to refining our total need again.

this is out of our oil reserve, the oil the US govt sets aside for times of crisis to be used to help the US. this has nothing to do with what we are producing today. Biden has already used about 20% of our Strategic Reserves in the last year plus, currently at a low level not seen since the cold war era. if the leaders of the past ( both parties) have all agreed that the US needs to have this stockpile for times of crisis, why would it be a good idea to dip into it, for global distribution, when we are already facing record high prices at home, and have loon at the wheel doing everything he can to make oil more difficult to produce domestically? his handling of the energy situation has been a joke and to be giving our US reserves to other countries should be considered treasonous if it leads to shortfalls down the road in times of need.
and yes the refinery issue is a major one, but I dont blame the Dems alone on that issue, IMO that is more of a NIMBY matter. just like everything else, people want cheap fuel, food, etc, but they dont want to deal with the smell or potential problems that might come from actually having those things near them... so they try and advocate for them, but in somebody elses state or whatever. like all this "green" energy... sounds wonderful as long as its not by their lake cabin obstructing their view of the sunset.
Its my understanding that the “reserves” are holes in the ground with untapped oil.
I would expect that, that oil would get put into our system to get refined. I have no idea if we should expect every drop that was released to have any exportation for refining or not.
If it left the US to get refined and came back as fuel, I dont see any issues. If it left and stayed gone, Ive got a big issue.

The reserves are actually oil that has been pumped out of the ground, piped to underground storage locations near the gulf, where it is then stored until time of need.
I have read that these reserves are getting sent to refineries around the world to be sold into their markets, not to be returned as a finished product. this is oil bought with US tax dollars, stored for times of crisis in the US, being dumped to aid foreign countries, some of which are not very friendly to US interests. I get the feeling the Administration is trying to diminish the Strategic Oil Reserves to continue the push to renewables. They declined to fully replenish them early in Biden's presidency while prices were still low and have made no effort to do anything to increase oil supplies. When they say the quiet part out loud, this sound positively giddy about oil prices driving a brave new World with Biden himself calling gas prices "transformative". Frankly, the Chinese don't need the reserves....Russia has a lot of oil to sell them these days since the Western embargo and they're only a 5 day voyage away from some of their oil ports.
Yet another in the ongoing situations where the main party fan clubs owe the functional Americans a ton of overdue apologies.

Yeah, if the world wasn't so fucked up already, it would be pissing me off to now end. But without a real journalistic media, we have little recourse to the corrupt ruling class.
And you can add the GOP to that class, they will "hammer" the issue to make gains in the election. But the GOP leaders are the same party as the Democrat elite, so it won't matter.
