My draft grade: F
Forgot/didn't pay attention at all. My son mentioned it Thursday and saw our 1st pick. Other than that, didn't check in at all. Well done NFL.
lol, I think you spent your time wisely here. But honestly, I've thought that way the last 7+ years.
I think overall it was a C draft. We didn't get fair value in a huge trade down to a division rival where they drafted probably the best playmaker in this draft (Williams) while we drafted a safety...a position I consider to be a low impact position. I'd never draft a first round safety unless they were a special talent. We traded out of our pick with a lot of highly rated players still on the board, including the receiver the Lions nabbed in the trade up. We were lucky that Booth was still on the board in the second round but we had to trade up to nab him AFTER TRADING WAY DOWN AGAIN WITH A DIVISION RIVAL! I might still have PTSD after taking Mac Alexander a few years ago, also a second round Clemson corner who busted. Booth has a lot of the same characteristics...just hope he's better. Ingram was a reach, but he has some talent and fits a need. Asamoah is an undersized LB who's immediate value is probably as a special teams guy. Evans will compete at a corner group that needs talent. The NC running back could stick as a 3rd down specialist. The rest of the picks face an uphill battle making the roster.
Like RS mentioned, the draft is not only about the players selected, but how you got them and did you maximize your draft capital. All that comes into the equation when grading. I think Kwesi fell way short in that regard and to me the players selected are low impact players. Safety, a cornerback (injured), and a reach at guard were our first three picks. That to me is why this draft was no better then a C grade
Special K™️ wins the award for trades
alienating his fan base, congrats…! :p
I give a B-. Everyone has hammered the trade issues so no need to keep going down that road. Overall, I liked the selections a lot.
Cine is a stud and will pop off the screen once he’s up to speed. What was interesting on his tape was you could see QB’s avoided throwing his way. That’s a good sign for a safety. I would have like Cine 15 picks earlier.
Booth - what an opportunity. I sure didn’t expect him to be there. Easy selection and has the traits to be a very good starting corner in the NFL. So I see the first two picks as starters, probably sooner than later.
As for the rest, I felt they did a good job except for the Ingram pick. He has talent and can become a starter, but there are known risks with him that would have had me waiting at least another round to pick him. A few evaluated him at that spot, but the majority had him going between 3rd and 5th. I hope he works out, but I would have gone a different route.
For all the crazy trade issues, Kwesi fought through and added some real talent to the team. I’m optimistic.
Minnesota Vikings: C+ Grade
Goals Entering the 2022 NFL Draft: The Vikings have just two picks between Nos. 12 and 156, so they'll likely want to trade down. Thanks to Kirk Cousins' albatross of a contract, the Vikings have several big needs, including cornerback, guard, linebacker and the interior defensive line.
2022 NFL Draft Accomplishments: Someone needs to tell the Vikings' new front office that it's a bad idea to give talented players to other teams in the division. This happened not once, but twice, as Minnesota dealt with both Detroit and Green Bay, gift wrapping Jameson Williams and Christian Watson to them, respectively.
I don't need to tell you that this will be a total disaster if both receivers live up to their potential. Making matters worse, the Vikings may not have the personnel to cover them, though Andrew Booth helps. Booth was a terrific pick in the middle of the second round, given that he was projected to be chosen in the opening frame. Lewis Cine, obtained at the end of Thursday night, was a very good pick as well.
In fact, I liked most of Minnesota's picks, giving only two of them a grade lower than a "B." The best of the non-defensive back picks was Ed Ingram, who will provide some much needed blocking for Kirk Cousins and Dalvin Cook. He, Booth and Cine are a nice trio, and the Vikings got a great haul overall, thanks to their willingness to trade down. However, they didn't get full value in the deal with the Lions, and both Williams and Watson could easily come back to haunt them for many years. I have to punish the Vikings for this reason.
To me draft grades are about as meaningless as the NFL Power
Rankings. It's just someone's opinion and doesn't have anything to do
with the reality of what will actually happen. Just wait it out and
you'll see who flourishes and who busts. Just like finding out what teams
make it to the playoffs or not. I understand it's fun to speculate, but
so many fans really get worked up over these grades of who is going to be a
good player or team or not. It's just not for me; I'll just wait and find
out for real.

It will be interesting from the additional perspective of what the players do within the division that the Lions and Packers traded up for. This thing is going to be judged in three years and it's going to come down to what Jameson Williams, Kyle Hamilton, and Christian Watson do versus what Lewis Cine, Andrew Booth, and Ed Ingram do. If I was a betting man I'd take that first group of players as being more likely to make the bigger impact and be the better group.
I think we can all agree that Baltimore is one of the best (maybe thee best), drafting teams in the league. GM Eric Decosta said this regarding Kyle Hamilton:
"I was thinking thank God Kyle Hamilton is still on the board because he was the highest-rated player, quite honestly, and it wasn’t super close between those two,” general manager Eric DeCosta said, via the Ravens’ website. “People have asked me, ‘Would you have taken Jordan Davis?’ Yeah, we would have. Jordan Davis is an excellent football player and fits us very, very well. But as we mocked out and looked at all the different scenarios, in no scenario did we see Kyle there for us.”
The Hamilton/Cine comparison is going to be very interesting to monitor for years to come

Yes, it will be. But to be fair, it's not Hamilton/Cine, it's Hamilton/Cine, Booth.

Yep. Two needs filled with talented players.
