So will they release Mayfield or do you suppose he can be had for a not so significant draft pick?

He has a pretty high dead cap amount so I dont know if that's an option. On the other hand, I dont know who will want him?

Anybody that is looking at drafting a QB this year that doesn't have a bridge veteran already in place.  I thought he would have been good to get back among other things if we had traded Cousins to the Browns this offseason.   If he's healthy his game would have fit nicely with our existing weapons,  and the other picks would have still allowed a hard move for next year to draft a qb of the future...but it wasn't meant to be.

I can actually understand his hurt feelings.  He embraced playing for that city,  those fans, and that franchise.  He did things early on for them that they hadn't had in 20 or 30 years,  he played hurt and his play suffered and they turned on him quickly.  He could handle it better,  but I understand the hurt he has.
