Honestly, when I hear or see KAM talking or the wording and then I see Ryan Poles, the difference is vast.
True, but will it translate to W’s?
That's what its all about. But honestly, if fans don't give the new regime a little time to dig out of this salary cap hole, they aren't properly evaluating anything. Right now, they are strategizing both short and long term but their hands are tied as speak right now. There is a very real possibility that Minnesota will have to cut Hunter. CUT HIM. That isn't their fault, that is part of the burden from the previous regime....the result of a big swing and a miss they must now rebuild out of.
No matter how badly Rick screwed things up, any GM who outright cuts a player of Hunter’s calibrer blew it too. This would be a tough one to swallow. Hopefully they find a dancing partner.

Nothing has impeded the football success of this franchise in the 17 years Wilf has owned it more than clueless guys named Wilf.
This is hyperbole but at the same time, IMO, you can't deny there was a learning curve for the Wilfs as they became owners that hurt the franchise. But they've done a lot more good than bad.

I'd be shocked if the Vikings flat out cut Hunter.  I guess it's possible, but that thought never crossed my mind.
Having him on the roster
not only makes the team way better, but it also helps keep their options open in
the upcoming draft.  If he's gone, then they're going to look for a new
rookie DE/OLB for sure in the first.  If he's traded, then at least
they have some picks to play around with to fill more holes.

Pretty good piece on KAM's approach to free agency. Crazy fun fact within: "The Vikings allowed more points in the final two minutes of the 2nd Quarter than any team in the history of professional football."
Patrick Peterson said on his podcast that the Vikings biggest issue last year was “situational football.”

It cost us at minimum 3 games.

That comes down to coaching, this team is indeed ready to win now.
Personally I thought the biggest problem with the team was not putting teams away, those games we lost in the last 2 minutes, were mostly because we played scared and did not take advantage of opportunities to close games out.  There was no leadership on the team and the team was very lethargic.  I was hoping to see a rebuild, at least Poles is trying to create a new culture there, we seem to think with a few tweaks that something is magically going to change with this team.  I hope they are right, but I don't see anything changing.

This. Last year they grotesquely squandered potential wins.

If the new FO releases Hunter with no comp that is a HUGE FU on them and no one else.  They were promoted/hired to make these decisions and losing Hunter for nothing is a disaster.

Looks like that will be avoided. Late word is Vikes will pay him and he'll be a Viking for at least 2 years.

Yea I hope so.  But it would have been a huge FU and hard to find excuses (i'm sure we would haveSmile.  Overall, poor handling of the situation even for a new regime with slack - IMO.  This has been a poor start for Kwesi but it is very very early and I am still trying to be optimistic like most others on here.

Slow and steady wins the race. At least that's what my mom says and you don't want to mess with her.
