See ya Davante

Although I'm glad Davante's out of the division, this trade shows why GB has dominated the NFCN for so long.  Vikings know Danielle Hunter wants a huge deal and/or doesn't want to be here and respond by doing nothing.  Packers realize they can't keep both Rodgers and Adams so they MAKE THE DAMN MOVE.

Even without Adams they're likely the division favorite and now they have 2 1sts and 2 2nds with which to reload.

Never mind the Super Bowl, I just hope the Vikings win the division before I die  :# :p
Yeah, but they will probably be using that at least one of those 1st on a QB

Zero chance this wasn't something both sides discussed during negotiations. Cannot imagine Rodgers signed without assurances as to plans A,B,C regarding the WR position.

Even before Rodgers signed Adam's made it clear he wasn't accepting the franchise tag. And GB had no intention of doing anything but franchising him this year then working out an extension next year.
Agree. I think the plan is for the Packers to bring in a cheaper veteran free agent and then draft one in the 1st round. Still, they have a lot of holes to fill and going from the best WR in the game to, say, JJ Smith Schuster is a big downgrade for the yeller team. The way defenses play them will change dramatically.
everything worked off of what they were able to do with Davante,  his absence will definitely have a ripple affect.  He is a damn good receiver,  but lets keep in mind all the receivers that looked damn good working with Favre and Rogers and then went onto look pretty average for other teams.  Part of what made Davante the weapon he has been was the guy throwing him the ball.
No doubt. Same with Justin Jefferson.
imagine how much better he would be with a great QB running the offense!
Right? He might even break records.

even without having to extend the season to 17 games.

He broke a few rookie records before they went to 17 games. Look, I'm not saying Cousins is as good as Rodgers. Just that the narrative always seems to be Rodgers makes Adams, which is partially true, but JJ does it all by himself, which, of course, is silly.

While Aaron Rodgers was negotating his contract, he knew Davante Adams would never play for the #Packers again. The situation was too far gone. Something had to give. And when Adams informed GB he wasn’t playing on the tag, talks got fired up. Now, Adams will be on the #Raiders. twitter.com/RapSheet/statu…

Ball placement with Cousins is rarely a concern for me,  except when he's rattled and then he throws high because he doesn't transfer his weight forward,  but putting the ball on the spot is typically Cousins strong suit.  It's the other parts of his game is where I think he falls short.  If he could buy another second in the pocket for himself,   or be able to roll out better,  then I think we would really see our O explode.  He doesn't need to be a "running qb"  he just needs to be less of a statue and more inclined to take that easy 6 yards when the D is laying off.

It'll always be the needing 6-9 and throwing it for 2

Couple of thoughts on this.  Firstly, I wonder how long it will be before the packers of fudge fans start the "Davante wasn't even that good" talk.  Secondly, I don't know that I'm overly happy with this.  Yeah, its great he is out of the division, but the packers now have 2 firsts and 2 seconds in a deep WR class.  Whats to stop them from double dipping in the first and coming out with 2 studs?

Well the odds of that happening aren't great.  I think the odds for first round WRs is around 50-50, and the odds of either of them being Adams good isn't great, but that would suck.
