The last regime was resigned to the thought they had to overpay to get people to come to or stay in Minnesota. To some extent, I think that's true. But one of the reasons I like having Kwesi is, an analytics guy will have a dollar value on every position on the team. I think he will be less likely to over pay.
I don't think Cousins has anything to do with Hunter's contract situation. But I do feel that neither one of them has been a good return on investment!

Vikings’ DE Danielle Hunter has an $18 million roster bonus due today and, barring an unforeseen change, Minnesota plans to pay it and tie the two-time Pro Bowl selection to its team for the remaining two years on his contract, per league source.
