Just my opinion but this is a really underrated crop of WR's in this draft class. The more I study film the more I like this group, especially Treylon Burks who I have as my #1 WR. I think he's a faster Deebo and his production in the SEC was dominant. Lit up Bama this year big time. Physical player with size and speed who wins the jump ball throws.
I'd say pre combine;
1. Treylon Burks
2. Garrett Wilson
3. Jameson Williams
4. Drake London
5. Chris Olave
All these guys will be first round picks and the second round should also see another three or four WR's come off the board
Thielen will be 32 prior to the season starting and has missed games due to injuries the last three years. Production has been down and Im not sure how much longer we can rely on him and his contract also becomes an issue. With O'Connell bringing in more of a spread offense with multiple WR sets, I'm not so sure that drafting another WR high wouldn't be a really good move. KJ Osborne is just okay IMO but we really have nothing in the way of quality depth. Jefferson needs his OBJ to his Cooper Kupp.
I dont know why, but Burks worries me. He lit up Bama, but Bama's secondary was real weak this year. He did absolutely nothing vs LSU, Georgia, and not much vs Texas. Very productive this past year and certainly has the size but something feels like it's missing to me

Bama is still Bama and has a lot of NFL talent on that defense year in and year out and Arkansas gave them a run this year in big part to Burks. He also tore up Auburn, Ole Miss, and Texas A&M as well. I like how he separates and is just physical. Reminds me of AJ Brown

If you want Deebo, although there aren't many of those, Wan'Dale Robinson is a better comp.
Doesn't mean I don't like Burks. I actually think he would fit O'Connell's scheme tremendously in the slot. The blocking he would provide out of 11-personnel would be crazy. That is of course outside of the fact he's also a good receiver.
The worry with Burks a little bit is he's a contested catch guy which is either a pro or a con depending on who you talk to. His initial acceleration isn't great but he's faster than he looks since he consistently beats DB angles. I highly doubt the Vikings will go WR early unless Thielen is moved, which is a possibility. But even then the group is so deep you're going to get better value in rounds 2-4.

Wan'dale would be a good fit...as would Skyy Moore, David Bell, and Jahan Dotson. Getting one of those guys if they fell to the 3rd round would be nice

That's really the rub. Is a guy great at 50/50 balls, or can he not separate.

Wan'Dale is listed at 5'11"/185 while Burks is listed at 6'3"/225. That's why I thought with his build and style of play, Deebo or AJ Brown were good comps. But yes agree with everything else and that he'd be a really good fit in our offense. I think we've missed that big physical element in the passing game with Irv Smith being completely unreliable due to injury.

That's also my concern with London. His 40 at the combine is going to be huge because he doesn't really separate on tape

I really like John Metchie out of those second tier guys, even recovering from the ACL tear. Big upside and if you can stash him away on IR this year I think he could be a steal
