I think it is just a classic case of Good coordinator and bad head coach. Happens all the time.

Some were meant to be head coaches and some were meant to be coordinators.
Those that realize early on and settle in are the best. Maybe Hackett knows now that’s he’s probably the latter. Of course take away a HOF QB or give them a washed up QB and some coordinators become average. We’ll see which one Hackett is after Aaron is out of the picture. 
Brad Childress’ offense didn’t suddenly become Kick Ass because of his play calling. Favre came in a lit things up for a year, then it went back to being below average.

Payton has always been an asshat...
I hope he fails miserably in Mile High. 
It doesnt make up for 09, but beating them at home in the playoffs and sending him and Brees off was quite satisfying.
So was the Minny Miracle.
