'They didn't like me like I liked them! (sniff)'

I dont see the mocking point of his comments?  Sounds like he was pretty honest and humble in his assessment of the situation.  He wanted the job more than rhe Vikings wanted him,   now that he tried he is committing himself back to Michigan so whats to laugh about?  I also suspect his interview wasn't nearly a ready as others since he really wasn't in the market for an NFL job and only had a few days to prepare.  I am sure there was some arrogance on his part,  but his track record with the niners justifies a bit of an cockness imo.
The "this is the last time" seems rather childish.  I don't know who started the flicker that fanned into a fire, but sheesh, he interviewed and maybe didn't nail it?  Tucking tail and whining doesn't show the maturity required at that level IMO.

If he wasn't in the market, why was he that into the Vikings?  A guy that interviews just to explore his options doesn't get all butt hurt.

I dont read it that way at all.  He has been very positive towards the Vikings the last couple days so I dont see the "butt hurt" at all,  he is simply saying that he knows he has a good thing in michigan and is recommitting himself to that program and letting them know that this isnt going to a be an ongoing process. (basically saying hes not interested in interviewing for one of the 4 remaining openings.

I will admit, I didn't waste time reading any further, so it could be the twist the tweet wanted to portray.

I didn't want him for many reasons, he let SF get screwed over by signing a QB with serious limitations to a huge contract.  In the McConnell thread, the illustration that McVay knew when to cut bait with Goff is the antithesis of what Harbaugh did in SF.  And then he ran back to college.

Spot on.  It was refreshing to hear how interested he was.  Probably wasn't handled the best on his part but it shows this franchise is a destination for opportunity, which is all we can ask for as fans.

I'm excited bout KOC, not as excited about the team of coaches he could have assembled vs Jim (Fangio, Munchak, Pep Hamilton).  I hope he proves me wrong.

That's my take and why I started this thread: it was the 'this is the last time' like he's SO annoyed about it.

I don't see it that way. He put himself out there by coming to town for an interview on signing day. Perhaps he had the arrogance to think he would be handed the key to the palace when he walked through the door. We may never know. But when he left he had only complimentary things to say about the Vikings organization.
His "this is the last time" statement was nothing more than an attempt to mend fences with his current employer.
Not whining nor a snub of the Vikings.

The interview tactic of "I'm Jim Harbaugh, hire me" didn't work.
Surprised he didn't use the tried and tested "nobody knows football more than I do."

I'm just curious if he'd be our coach right now if he'd simply taken a more humble approach--not assume the job was his, actually tried to learn something about our roster, and offer the suits a definitive plan moving forward. I mean that would be the expectation. We don't know what happened in those 9 hours, but I suspect Harbaugh's "plan" was insufficient....if he even had one.

How do you know he didn't do just that?  It's seems like a lot of people out there have a preconceived notion about the guy, and are unwilling to open your minds enough to allow that it could be wrong.

Hey, you could be right. I can see that possibility.

I also wondered what was conveyed to him upon the initial Zoom meeting they had last Saturday. Maybe there was something said that gave him the impression he was the leader in the clubhouse, so to speak. I do remember reading somewhere that during KAM's interviews, when the topic of coaches came up Harbaugh was on the list and it was insinuated that he could be had.

Again, none of it matters anymore but it sure was fun while it lasted. On to the KOC-KAM regime! Wait, that doesn't sound right rolling off the tongue.

Yeah, no need to bring Favre into the discussion.
