The #Vikings are zeroing in on #Rams OC Kevin O’Connell as their head coach, sources tell me and @RapSheet. The deal can’t be finalized until after the Super Bowl.

Kevin O'Connell will become the 10th head coach in Minnesota Vikings history. The Rams OC turns 37 in May and fits the "bright, young offensive mind" mold that many teams are looking for these days.

The #Vikings wrapped up an interview this afternoon with Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh, then informed fellow finalists Patrick Graham and Raheem Morris they’re out. O’Connell is Minnesota’s man.

Vikings interviewed O’Connell in LA on Monday and came away impressed with his vision for the franchise. He was emerging as the front runner before the Harbaugh interest emerged last Saturday and now is in line to land the job, which won’t be official til after the Super Bowl.
