Something to think about....the four head coaches in the championship games...all offensive minded. The theme here is that if you have a great, innovative, offensive mind with weapons to play with...you are going to be very difficult to stop. To the Wilfs...take note and leave Quinn, Morris, and Bowles off your finalist list.
I like Morris but yeah, agreed.

Chiefs are going to roll whichever NFC team they face too. Best offensive coaches, best QB, best playmakers. Bills had the #1 D. Got shredded.
Yeah Frazier and McDermott have years upon years of NFL coaching experience on defense and couldn't even come close to slowing down Andy Reid, Mahomes, and that Chiefs offense. It's the wave of the future. If you aren't innovative on offense and utilizing weapons, you are going to get left behind. It's why I really hope if the Vikings are going to roll the dice, my preference would be for them to do so on an offensive innovator as a head coach. To me all these guys they've interviewed thus far are either retreads or just unproven....give me Kellen Moore.

Also, this team needs more weapons and speed offensively. We need a lot on defense but to me we could really benefit from big time TE and I don't know that we can rely on Irv Smith to stay healthy.

Good old D may rear its head Championship weekend and at the SB too... Not like the 70's, but more than this weekend.

I get the religion regarding this era of NFL and the need for being creative on O.

If you dont get the QB right you're screwed. So very few Allens, Mahomes, Burrows and Hebert's out there.

Unless you're committed to having your HC calling plays, I'm more concerned with can the guy be flexible enough to identify the right coordinators/position coaches for our talent, and lure them to his staff to implement a more innovative schematic direction? Be a players coach, be the game manager, be in charge of the clock/timeouts and challenge the official calls guru, be a PR genius, stay in Minnesota year round and be the face of the organization and community... Pretty much the opposite of what we just had.

Allen - 1st round pick 7
Mahomes - 1st round pick 10 (move up)
Burrows - 1st round pick 1
Herbert - 1st round pick 6

The new GM/HC tandem have to do their due diligence on the QB's and move up, if necessary, like I wanted Spelly to do last year.  Right now, I am liking Pickett for us to get in the 5-7 range with a move up from 12.

I remember that draft when KC was very aggressive moving up, ironically it was the Bills pick they traded for and picked Mahomes with.  They were in a similar position to how we are with Cousins with Alex Smith and instead of settling for a good QB they went all in to take a chance on finding someone elite.  Without that trade the last 4 championship games do not go through KC.  I have no doubt that is what it is going to take for us to become a real contender.

Yup, Mahomes was their guy and what a move.

Getting him @ 10 was a steal in retrospect.

And the same year? The Bears traded-up all the way to #2 to take Trubisky - over Mahomes and DeShaun Watson.

I guess the moral of the story is be aggressive, but you'd better be smart about it (and maybe a little lucky too).

Adam's in two games against the Vikings this year; 18 catches, 251 yards, and 3 TD's. It's amazing how we haven't been able to stop this guy for years now. Double teaming him is a novel idea...wish Zim would have thought of that.
