I dont see how you can put the 49'ers that high with so many questions @ QB...I'd put the Vikings odds over a # of those teams in the middle too.

we got dismantled by the playoff teams we faced this year,  except for the Bills which I have no answer for.  We will be playing a significantly tougher schedule next year,  and with the cap mess and limited draft picks,  the offseason doesnt look to add a lot of improvements.  I think we  are hard pressed to be favorite to win the North again next year,  let alone a SB.

We finished 13-4, which is great, but also the third best team in the NFC North. Both the Lions and Packers deserve the higher ranking, IMO.

I dont know about the packers,  but I think the lions are likely the team to beat in the north next year.  there seemed to be a lot less smoke with them than there was our 13-4, and the packers late sesason resurgence,  not to mention theres the matter of what living in the dark will reveal to rogers and where he chooses to take his talents.  I think that next year may be the most evenly matched that the NFCN has been in a long damn time.

In what world are the Jets, Browns and Saints ranked ahead of us?

A world where I guess Mike White, Kyle Trask and Jameis Winston are suddenly good QBs. A world where 24M in cap deficit is insurmountable and we don't have a half dozen contracts to pull money from. A world where Brian Flores does nothing to improve our defense, Cine, Booth and Evans stay hurt, and Cousins and the rest of the new offense don't improve at all in year two.

If this were a 1-32 rankings list then yes we'd probably be ahead of them. But the Vikings are viewed as a known commodity and our chances of making some big move that boosts us into SB-winning contention next season isn't all that high. Whereas the Jets might trade for Rodgers, Watson might be much better next season, and the Saints might have a new QB as well. These odds and this list aren't designed to show respect to good teams who might win 10-12 games. It's designed to part dreamers from their money.

IDK, I can see the story a little bit.  We overachieved and likely will regress to
the mean of our potential combined with us strapped against the cap and likely
losing a good chunk of the good players we have.

Just look at the list of positions everyone makes that we
need to improve to compete for a SB.  It’s
like almost every position.
