These articles I am reading are giving me a growing unease over the Wilfs ability to make the right decisions regarding football operations....
Been a long time since I've thought about Fran Foley, the TOA etc.
We have to hope they've learned a lot since those days.

They are masters of mediocrity. 16 years of basically .500 football. I have no faith in them. They are better at bullshit p.r. about being contenders than actually contending.

I agree that the win/loss record is what it is...Mediocre.
And that's a big part of what they have to do - build a winning team.
But they've pretty much blown away all their predecessors with how (in just about every other area you measure a teams success) they've checked the box.
Best facilities, best stadium, corporate culture, local philanthropy etc.
No excuses. Try to get better. I think the Wilfs want that, lets wait and see how things shake out. The fanbase is getting themselves worked up here, I never expected Z or Spielman to be let go before the season is over. But see below what planning and good coaching can do:

Yeah, I wouldn't say they are mediocre. Zim and Rick have put good product on the table other than the necessary wins and playoffs. There haven't been large scandals, players have generally been good people, the USBank environment is the envy of the league.

That's nice but it doesn't win championships. The team with the nicest stadium or the best practice facility doesn't have some bigger chance to win it all. Teams with lousy facilities have won titles. That stuff ultimately is just window dressing if you aren't a contender and we aren't.

It makes it easier to get free agents and keep good players, which helps build the talent needed for championships.

when you are in a bitter cold state, with a high personal state income tax... you better have something nice to offer free agents that doesnt get taxed or count against the teams cap.

seriously, how often are those teams decisions the butt of jokes on this site (and about every other teams fan conversations) and we are right there in the discussion when it comes to what this game is really all about. ugh....
