If Mond has not shown much in practice and he wouldn't listen to his coach and get vaccinated, why would Zimmer like him or play him? Put yourself in Zimmer's shoes, he has a young QB who is drafted who won't listen to him and from what it sounds like doesn't perform in practice. I wouldn't play him either. No one here knows what has happened between the two, so not fair to judge him on this issue.
I don't think Mike Zimmer is one to develop a project QB. So his opinion on it means little to me personally after 8 years. Mikes type is Sean Mannion, a good brown nose and a good ability to hand the ball off.
He is starting to remind me of Chilly…sticking to HIS methods and HIS way, and willing to go down in a fireball because he just knows he does it right and everyone else does it wrong.
Time to stick a pitchfork in Zim. I want the new coach to identify strengths in our players, coach them up, and not just leave them on the bench and forget about them.

Could not disagree more.
Zimmer's job is to coach and develop players not tear them down with childish disdain.
Unfortunately for us, Zimmer is the perfect example of the Peter Principle in the Corporate world. He "was" a top DC that should never have been a HC. He was given the chance to prove all those teams wrong that passed over him and he never rose to that challenge. He never rose above slightly above average in terms of HC - IMO. Wilf's love of Parcells gave Zimmer his chance. It did not work out.
Lastly, of course it is fair for us to judge Zimmer. Even if Mond is a complete bust does your HC need to be d**k about it. Is it him giving Spelly (his boss) the finger??
So....Mond either: sucks in a big way or just hasn't been allowed to see the light of day. Like I mentioned a bit ago, when Z gets fired, we'll start hearing stories from 'sources'.

If Mond is a total bust, then the real issue is not with Mond, he is who he is as a football player. The real issue is with the professionals in the organization that supposedly did their due diligence on the guy and chose to select him over other options when they were on the clock. No one put a gun to their head demanding Mond be the selection. To lay the wood to this guy in a presser like that is unbelievable unprofessional and totally unbecoming of a head coach. That should give any owner pause over whether they want to continue with that coach.
Lets not forget Mond was pretty raw for an NFL QB...We all knew he was going to need at least a year to curate. Maybe 2 or 3.
Mannion does suck, but that doesnt mean the right thing to do was put the kid out there on a SNF national game against one of the top 3 teams in the NFL on the road in 20 below weather.
IMO that would have been more damaging to the kid than not playing him.
I dont get the hair-pulling over this at all.

everything you said... then think about what zimmer said. thats the hair pulling part
nobody was expecting the kid to win anymore than they were expecting Mannion to not shit the bed, but if the kid wasnt being prepared for bit roles, or even a solid back up role, what they hell are they doing with him? getting him some real reps that dont have consequences attached to them can hardly be damaging. he is a football player, with no playoffs on the line... which they werent by half time even for those that still had hope, he should have been about as loose as a player could be for a first time.
Flip and annoying comment from Zim. But ya'll saw Mond play in Green Bay, right? Yyyyeee. Not sure I want to see him next week.

Yeah for one series which is absolutely ridiculous. I would rather see Mond than Mannion.
Ive read on another fan site that Mond, Surrat, and Davis have shown NOTHING in practice to indicate they are ready for playing time We better hope that is very wrong.
