How many of these bad or missed calls are only noticed when played in slow motion or played over several times in replay?  Not saying they don't happen but I think the hyper intensive way we are served the games has a fair amount to do with how we perceive the refs performance to be.  Think about the game clock thing,  pisses me off to until I think that I am watching a screen that has the view zoomed into the line and a little clock right there on the screen,  my eyes barely have to move to see both.  Yes there are play clocks in the emdzones,  but those officials also have players running around interfering with their views and what not.  

Yes the refs are frustrating for me,  but not nearly as much as these half assed announcers spewing shit that is so wrong and showing how little they prepare for their jobs.   Or the networks and broadcast teams turning the games into their own social platforms.

Get rid of instant replay,  get rid of rules that favor certain positions or one side of the ball,  and get rid of the politics and social justice bull shit,  just give me what I tuned into the game for...the game of football.

Not only is the quality of officiating better, so is the quality of play.   Tackling is a lost art these days.  Go watch a game in the 1970s and observe Jeff Seimon or Jack Lambert making a textbook wrap up tackle.  Also notice the respect players have for each other from opposing teams and the complete lack of self promotion.  Just a better game back then all the way around.

The refs are terrible these days and replay doesn't seem to work very well. The changes in rules seems to make the calls more subjective and therefore prone to human error and bias.
I remember when they first started with the current replay system, the officials refused to go against a refs call on the field even if he was wrong. There is still a bias in that direction if you ask me. Replay doesn't work very well. I wish they would just do away with it.
I also wish they would simplify some rules to make them less subjective.
For example; a catch is made if the ball doesn't touch the ground and the receiver is in bounds. Make it simple and easy to call. And just put a red dress on the quarterbacks!

Speaking of refs determining the outcome of games, how many can see the NFCC at Green Bay with McCarthy’s Cowboys as the opponent? Gotta have the drama you know. Rodgers v. his arch nemesis Fat Mac. It’ll happen.

I would say it’s more likely the Cowboys lose
their first game than make it to the NFCCG.
