Kirk Cousins is a great QB ...
Right up until those clutch moments when he needs to be great.
Then it's back to bad Kirk, throwing dumb INTs, chucking passes in the dirt, and sailing must-have throws over the WR's head.
On paper he is having his best statistical season. On film, he is still the same .500 QB that can't get it done like other elite QBs can.
I saw on reddit that Stafford is now 9-70 against teams with a winning record.
Here's Captain Clutch showing the Nation he's got everything under control: "No reason to panic guys, I got this!" :s

What about last week vs Pack? Right after the Rogers to Scandling TD in 4th qtr
KC isnt elite, it wasn't his best game yesterday. But he's the best qb here since Bert. And thats a long time ago now.
You think having one of the worst defenses might have something to do with Cousin's needing to pull Houdini out of his ass?
We spent BIG on D this year and its yielded us absolute shit. Had we invested even one contract that we used on D on our OL maybe Cousins wouldn't be running for his life most games.
It doesn't copy worth a damn, but Kirk is probably the #2 QB this year to Kyler Murry? He's basically got the same stat line as Kaaron does.

They're about a #24-#25 D in most rankings
Cousins is having a great year, but lining up under the Guard is a giant Where the F*ck is your head at for me. He's been way better this year in late game crucial situations but stuff like that is why he gets crap from folks. He's not the reason we lost, but a few plays yesterday as to why he contributed to it.
Hopefully he redeems himself in the next few games.

24-25th would put them in the 75th percentile of defenses. I'd consider that one of the worst.
There is speculation that there is an arm issue. He took some hits a couple of weeks ago which could have contributed to inaccurate throws. Not lining up under center is just boneheaded. He is 12 or 13 qb in the league. He is not elite but second tier. His durability has been amazing all things considered.
@"AGRforever" said:The reason we were in that position was the brutal pick that he threw that resulted in 7. Take away that play and instead of Kirk getting lined up under the guard we are milking the clock down and kicking a game winning FG. That was the difference in winning that game. You think having one of the worst defenses might have something to do with Cousin's needing to pull Houdini out of his ass?
During that play, my brother started yelling that they were doing a trick play and I didn't get what he was talking about and he just assumed they were going to direct snap it to someone else. Too bad that was not true and they snapped it directly to Mattison, cause that probably would have worked.

The Oline was below average 4 years ago when KC arrived.
Yesterday, same thing. Shitty Oline play.
Same goes with Offensive Coordinator.
Cousins can definitely play better, I agree.
The problem is no one can tell how much Oline or OC matters because those 2 areas have been shitty and below average the last 4 years.

0 points in the 4th quarter in what's basically a playoff game.
Zip, zilch, nada in the 4th. Zim doubles down on stupid by not kicking a FG and puts the game on KC to win it.
At some point you'll accept him for what he is, a .500 QB.
As for the defense, SF scored 0 in the 4th quarter. Plenty of opportunities to win but offense needs to score with game on the line.
