I don’t think young hot shot OC’s with minimal experience
are anywhere close to a sure thing. I
think coaches can have a good season or two but it’s still really hard to be a
consistent winner without an elite QB, but I do think there’s a lot of benefit
to pairing a top level QB with a high quality offensive minded head coach. I think the trouble Zimmer or any defensive
coach will have is that you’ll keep losing your OC, your playcaller, etc. In order to maximize your QB, who is your
most important player on the field, you really should have a consistent scheme
that they know like the back of their hand, a playcaller that can call the
right plays to make them look good, etc.
