Was watching Raiders/Ravens game...

Lamar Jackson is sure fun to watch and dangerous as hell in some ways as a QB.

Would you want him as Vikings QB over Cousins?

Lamar does have flaws in his game.

Yes, I think he would be a perfect fit for what Zimmer wants to do on offense and he would make Cook even more dangerous (which is scary).

That said our passing game might suffer some... not sure Thielen and Jefferson would benefit from this switch. Overall, our offense would be different but I think Lamar's game would be more complimentary to the style of offense we want (very similar philosophy as Baltimore) and would take some pressure off the OL in pass protection.

Yes, if not him, some other more mobile QB. Kirk's ability to throw dimes into buckets is only really good when he has time and is comfortable. Today's DL and LBs are to big , to fast, and to athletic for him to be able to play his style of football on a consistent basis.

Kirks lack of mobility is a detriment to our OL, with a QB more adept at moving and leaving the pocket rushers wouldn't be able to pin their ears back like they do with Cousins and that would make our OL like a little better. Its been said all week that there are ways a QB helps his OL and Kirk doesn't do many of them very well.

The game is all about a mobile QB as part of the package in the modern NFL. Its adds a dimension that really defenses can't deal with consistently.

No. His passing ability is what has gotten the Ravens into trouble the last couple playoff appearances. Mobility is a great asset but without passing ability it wont get you anywhere.

I want to take a spin on the QB roulette wheel. Or try Mond and see what happens.

I'm with you. Lamar is attractive because he's different from what we currently have, but he doesn't seem to have IT when it comes to the playoffs. That certainly may change, but he has struggled mightily so far

We'll see if Jackson is still playing when he is 30.

Same here. The formula to beat him is the same that worked against Kaepernic, Vick, RGIII and all the others that were the rage for a few years. Make them beat you with their arm. And time and time again, they show they can't. Throwing the ball down the field is so much simpler and easier than running it. It gets there faster with less physical cost. Not saying the running game isn't important, but that isn't what the QB is for. If the D can stop the run and the QB can't make them pay consistently, the game is easy.

Also, didn't Jackson have 2 fumbles that really cost the team the win?

No but they win MVPs, have great records and take their teams deep into the playoffs and super bowl.

We haven't had any of that in 50 years.

Jackson on the 2018, 2019 Vikings is a Super Bowl contender.
